The Unexpected Visitor 2 by Doug Brewer- DVD

One comment I honestly have about the production value is that the camera framing is very tight and the action does not always follow the action well. This makes it slightly annoying because the magic and his hands go out of frame constantly throughout.

Other than that, the coin material on this DVD is REALLY superb and refreshing! I had not heard of Doug Brewer previously and his coin work influences include notably magicians such as Chris Kenner, Curtis Kam and Chad Long; so in a sense you are getting an amalgamation of great ideas in a single DVD. His performance character tends to be a combination of David Williamson, Paul Harris with just a bit more ‘ego’ *grin* But that's just his performance character... he's really a nice guy and that shows in the explanations bit of this DVD.

The featured material is for the intermediate to advanced coin worker and you will require several different coins, gimmicks and items to perform all the routines in the DVD. But if you're a performer, hey, this is a good investment well worth making.

Some wonderful highlights are:

Visual Copper Silver Brass - A very visual CSB routine that had me guessing the exact methods unitl I watched the explanation! Nice!!

Magician Vs Wife’s Coin Purse - This is a cute plot that involves a purse and a purse frame. It is magical and has a novel presentation... sweeeeet!

Shrunken Heads – This is another cute routine where 3 silver dollar coins are visibly shrunk one at a time to penny-sized silver coins. The routine is motivated and very visual. But, you will require a very expensive coin gimmick :P

Chopped Taters – This is the only non-coin routine and it is more or less a standard mini chop cup routine with influences from David Williamson’s ‘Gold Cups’ routine. But, close-up performers will find this a very practical routine to perform. The mini chop cup takes up very little space and can be easily carried around.

So, in a nutshell... If you love coin magic, this is a great DVD and highly recommended. It will have you practicing and trying out the routines for hours, days and weeks & you'll just love it!!!
