hi guys is it valid to ask where to learn tricks ?? like to get basics of cards or coins so can perform those common tricks most magician do .. is there a place i can learn or only from dvds ..

yes. there are local magic shop available.
but i don recommend them as they are really costly.
Learning from Dvds are really good as they are easy to get and there is this "rewind" function available on your Dvd player.

Yup.
But DVDs generally cost alot for the amount you learn. Books contain the most information for the least price so I'd recommend you buy several books and check em out. You'd be surprised that you don't have to watch visuals to learn magic....at least for now.
Lookin at your situation all you need is $50.
Royal Road to Card Magic - Hugard/Braue
Modern Coin Magic - Bobo
1 deck of cards (preferbly bicycles..duh!)
Have fun man!

to me, the fastest way to learn is when someone is teaching the trick beside you.
i would suggest you getting DVDs as it is easier to learn from DVDs den to Books.
Books contain really valuable information that are often seen on an marketed effect, but reading and learning from sketches aren't my type.
oh well. its up to your own personal preference.

I agree with hihs. Learning from DVDs are far more practical than from reading bookds, provided that you get a good waulity DVD that teaches you well. What I mean by that is that the performer teaches you step by step in details rather than just showing you the tricks and rushing the teaching.
It is a fact that visual is better than reading - watching a someone perform is far more entertaining then reading a thick book and imagine how it is being performed. Actions speaks more than a million words (haha).
Learning from DVDs are just like having someone beside you and teaching you the moves and sleiights of hands and you can even pick up some of his presentaion skills by looking at how someone perform. From books (provided you like reading), you do not get all these and you have to start using your imagination and visualising how the sleight is done and there is a risk that you might have misinterpreted wrongly.
My recommendation to you - DVDs!!! Get a really good one.

For learning card magic, one way you can't go wrong is to get
Royal Road to Card Magic (RRTCM) book
, and if you have extra money to spend, get the
Royal Road to Card Magic 5-DVD set by Paul Wilson.
Both are excellent stuff for beginners in card magic in my opinion. The DVD set is meant to complement the book, where you can look at how the move is done visually after reading the book. I'm currently using both to learn the sleights and tricks.
Note that there is another version of RRTCM DVD set which consists of only 4 DVDs. That set is cheaper, but I've read that it is not as good as the Paul Wilson set.

For beginners, my personal preferences on DVDs are:
1. How to do Street Magic
2. Crash course 1 & 2
3. Inside magic
There are more than enough tricks in there for you to perform to get a great reaction.
I did not have the royal road to card magic so no comments on it. Those that I have mentioned, in my opinion is very suitable for beginners who knows nothing about magic, not even the basic sleigt of hands). I am not sure if you can get from any other shops but I got mine from the Ellusionist as I think there have some bundle sales for beginners. And Brad Christian is a great and fantasic teacher! He goes through it in very detail manner and you will never miss anything out! I have watched the DVD over and over again and never gets bored.
