Title: Looking For A Private Driving Instructor :)
Description: Know anyone good?

Ning - February 25, 2007 04:39 AM (GMT)
Hey folks... ^_^

I'm looking for a private driving instructor who has to be obviously good, flexible, nice (no anal, frumpy, angry old men please) and well, fluent with English  I understand that the standard market rate is about $24/hr for auto cars... does anyone have any good contacts to recommend?

THANKS MUCH!
ning ;)

Sorry to hijack the thread, but what's the legal age for driving now?

Wow, so expensive nowadays. I remembered mine lesson cost $10 per hour. But that's a Datsun 120Y.

i suggest you to learn from school.... my experience and understanding is that those who learn from school gets their license FASTER than those that learn from private, though they have to pay slightly more.

most of my friends got their license with 1 or 2 trials if they learnt in school. while those taking private will tend to need more trials- I have a friend who has record of 7 trials, I did not ask if he got his license now :P

to learn from private instructor, you must really get a good one. One that will teach you all the tips for safety checks... My private instructor did not teach me on those checks and I was 'awarded' with points on those safety checks for my first test.

good luck to you.... :)

Erm huh? My experience plus my friend's is that private is better?! She took from the school but failed her first driving test. I took mine from private instructor but passed on the first try... And after calculation mine was way cheaper than my friends' fees... By the way, that was only last year so it quite up-to-date i think.

Hi you can try Mr Chua from woodlands driving school. He is nice and professional, he teaches mostly manual but if you want auto he would be able to assign one of his instructors to you.

You can check it out at his website Woodlands Driving School (Singapore) or contact him directly at +65-9666-5437

Yea, it was proposed but not to worry.. It wasn't approved and probably won't get approved anytime too soon according to my instructor at least. That's because approving THAT will mean that for a certain period of three years, there will be a huge decrease in the number of people learning driving (and taking the test ).

The driving centres wouldn't be too happy about that would they? ;)

Wah heng arh.. I've been hearing this "rumor" like everywhere.. Now I finally got myself clarified. Haha.

I better start saving now for next year! Yay! Haha. Then my parents will have to start hiding their car keys..
