Illusion Works - Volumes 3 & 4 by Rand Woodbury

There are no illusions in Volume 3 as this DVD is dedicated purely to building tips that will be useful to illusion builders. There are a lot of suggestions, from how to correctly attach fabrics to your illusions, to using the correct paint type, to how to better drill holes, etc.

Yes, most of these are carpentry tips but unless you are already an expert carpenter when you decide to build your own illusion, Rand's advice can save you time, money and frustrations. And these tips are areas which are especially relevant to building illusions which are accumulated by many years of building experience by Rand Woodbury ^_^

I'd say it's very helpful for building all kind of illusions, not limited to bases and step based illusions like those shown in volume 1 and 2. Also, there's a part about a different kind of trapdoor that is different from those shown in volume 1 and 2.

In volume 4, Rand introduces us to two professional illusion builders in US, Douglas-Wayne Illusioneering, and Bill Smith Magic Ventures. There is a tour of each bulder's workshop and their each's unique and keynote illusions. I guess this is useful if you are really going go into illusions big time :g:

There is a few more building tips for the serious illusion builders to work smarter & easier, and a few more recommendations for more illusion books and their content. In all, I think this DVD is worth it just for the building tips in Volume 3. And for the serious builder, Volume 4 can give you some very helpful advice on how (and where and who) to take it even further.

A good investment too, for the serious stage illusionist!

CHEERS!
