If anyone has noticed The Little Magic Shop's track record, TLMS has been the sole magic shop that has supported SMC since day one, with ideas & contributions to online 'competitions' to make SMC a funner place, funding of chalet/ bbq gatherings for magic meet-ups, and more...

The Little Magic Shop has been around since SMC started & it has certainly grown much. It has been a very exciting journey for me & those close to me would know the great pains I went through :) TLMS has always retained my vision of being able to help students of the art & yet be ethical in its ways, condemning magic piracy and providing magic offerings at very reasonable prices.

I'm very happy to announce that The Little Magic Shop finally has a place it can kinda call its own right now... as well as, its own brand new signage on the door to boot! *grin* So I hope to see all of you this Good Friday at the magic studio. Since terms of sale is only in cash, please don't bring huge notes or cheques/ cards :P That'd be truly appreciated.

Thanks much... here's looking forward to seeing you guys soon!

Cheers,
Ning ^_^

Ning is truly the magician's dealer. She is one of the few dealers I've ever met who not only tries hard to maintain the integrity of the art, but also goes to great lengths to ensure that ALL magicians of ALL ages get what they NEED at *AFFORDABLE* rates.

If you've not read the testimonies of the others on the forum, check out this thread:

The Little Magic Shop Reivew

On more than one occasion I was tempted to purchase something from her and she would advise me not to, telling me it's really not worth it (she won't expose the secret of course, but she'd strongly recommend that I not waste my money). How many dealers would actually dissaude you from making a purchase?

I also know for a fact that she has given students who are financially hard-pressed, much advice in purchases to avoid having them spend unnecessarily; sometimes she even gives discounts beyond generousity's grace. She takes her customers' wellfare so seriously she often blurs the line between business and charity.

Anyway, if you've been thinking of getting something for awhile now and it happens to be in stock, do turn up. You will not regret it.

PLUS - Uncle Bob will be there performing. Take this chance to watch him in action!

Shade

I will be going down. This is a good chance to top up your accessories since they will be in discounted price. I believe many of us who visit a magic shop, partly also hoping to witness some professional magicians poping by with their magic trick, but most of the time, you may end up staying for more than an hour just staring at the shelves of pros and tricks.

This will be a nice place to spent your holiday, shopping for your tricks plus entertained by professionals. At the same time, build up your contacts in this circle of magic.

See u .. :)

Also agree fully with Shade on this statement. B)

3 cheer for The Little Magic Shop and 10 cheer for Ms Ning. B)

The price from The Little Magic Shop has always been exceptionally affordable.

And now its SALES - and I'm sure when Ning jie says sale, it means SALE! Not only can you get your stuff at a great price; you also get to visit the studio; see Uncle Bob; meet up with many magicians and plus the fact there are so much 'goodies' thrown in, how can you miss it? I definitely am looking forward to Good Friday!!

For once, Good Friday's gonna be really GOOD for me!!

See you all on Friday!!

Ade. :g:

PS. Congratulations to The Little Magic Shop on getting your own place and signage!! By the way, Ning jie, i noticed there's a silhoute in your magic signage that looks somewhat like you... is that meant to be you?? :!!:

Oh! And will around like 80 dollars of coins be accepted?? I'm afraid a lot of my savings are in coins!! :P

muscleaxl - April 2, 2007 11:00 AM (GMT)
Wa... TLMS' stuffs are already the most affordable in Singapore market right now, yah some even say Batam... ( I thought Batam only has affordable women, not sure about magic stuffs though... ). I should know, I have been buying things at different places, some places are really quite eh... rip-off.

Anyway, besides pricing, Ning is one of the most reliabe, trustable, friendly, sweet, beautiful, cool and sassy dealers I've buy from (again, this is true, most dealers are either aunties or guys which doesn't really set my hormones going..). So i will definitely be down there to grab some bargain and a chance to finally see her studio!

Come down you guys.... you must!! If only to meet "the only professional female magician in Singapore" and have a photograph session.

PS: If the above sounds like a sales pitch, well, actually I owe her a testimony for TLMS. So what;s written above is true. TRY IT, YOU WILL LIKE IT!

To save the next viewer of this thread the trouble of having to read through all that has been said thus far, I shall attempt to summarize the top reasons of "Why you should be at the TLMS Good Friday magic sale"

In no order of merit/priority:

- It's a SALE for goodness sake, a SALE! Plus how often do you get a MAGIC SALE?
- Fantastic prizes to be won EVERY HOUR! (spend $50 and above to qualify for a chance to win)
- FREE GIFTS to be given out (for every $30 spent per customer, WHILE STOCKS LAST)
- Watch Uncle Bob perform!
- Visit the magic studio!
- See the new TLMS signage!
- A chance to meet other practitioners of the art and expand your magic social network!
- You get to see Ning! (need I say more?)
- Stock up on your magic supplies and expand your magic library of books/DVDs!
- Make your Good Friday a REALLY GOOD one!

With all the reasons listed above, you better have a REALLY REALLY SOLID reason for not being there this Friday, so see you there!

Bob Chua - April 2, 2007 01:17 PM (GMT)
So much has been mentioned about the TLMS and makes no room for me to add. I must agreed that its the cheapest and sincere online magic shop around.

I always get my stuffs from Ning because I can save on shipping.

I will be there this Friday to do a demo of my Chinese Connection. I will be glad to share with you my ideas on the 3 shells. My first public performance of the 3 shells was in 1982 at the Western Australian Magic Convention.

Hope to see you guys there and be glad to share my experience with you as a full time performer in magic.

Uncle Bob

ThomasLim - April 2, 2007 01:29 PM (GMT)
Oh no.... I will missing this!!! That day is a big day for me and my son, and we are having party :) I wont be able to make it there though I hope I could :(

I would like to know what are the items that will be on SALE? If they happen to be on my list, I would like to "book" it first if Ning allows :)

Will you be around at your shop this Thursday, would like to dropby to take a look :) Wow.... TLMS is no longer the little online shop anymore :)

Ning, I am glad that you are really doing well....... and thanks for your advise via sms recently.

nyx - April 2, 2007 02:23 PM (GMT)
This is an opportunity not to be missed.

I had been missing from countless gatherings and had gone MIA in the forums as well. I'll make a commitment to go down this fine friday.

I'd seen Uncle Bob perform before a long time ago and i definitely want to see him again. If you haven't, you HAVE to.

Everyone just come on down. It'll be fun!

Alexander - April 2, 2007 02:45 PM (GMT)
Man... I'd really reeally really want to turn up.

But I'll be in taiwan. Committments.

Sighs

sheeke - April 2, 2007 02:48 PM (GMT)
WOW. That means the online shop has changed into a physical shop or its just a one day event?

ps Congrats ning

Navarrone - April 2, 2007 03:00 PM (GMT)
WOW SALE~!

Who would not be attracted for the big 4 letter words? And how many times you see in a year that has a sale for magic? Since it is falling on a public holiday, i think everyone reading should go over to the magic sale. Look, you buy magical items at a discounted rate, and you also get to take part in lucky draws! This is a good time to stock up on your stuffs and also take a look at the new effects that has just hit the market over at the sale. You will also get a chance to watch Bob Chua in performance and also take a look at the concept:magic studio! Spend your Good Friday magically by spending your time there. I'm sure you will find yr friday afternoon meaningful, and magical.

Oh come on, Ning is such a nice person :!!:

Btw Ning,
Thats a very nice and freakin cool logo you have over there~!

Ning - April 2, 2007 03:40 PM (GMT)
Hey guys

Thank you, thank you, thank you SO MUCH for the awesome response!!! First off, I have very good news to share *grin* This is a NEW addition, but there's going to be a False Shuffling Workshop held by J C Sum, FREE for all customers this Good Friday @ 4.30pm. I'm trying to get more chairs but please note that close-up seats @ the studio are limited.

While many know J C for his illusion and stage work, those who attended the Concept:Magic Micro Magic Convention earlier this Jan will know that his roots are in close-up & he still continues work on the close-up magic craft for his TV work and professional engagements. B) SO! For the FIRST & ONLY time, J C will present a mini-workshop on False Shuffles. Shuffles (Basic to Advanced) covered include:

In the Hands Hindu Shuffle (Two Versions)
In the Hands Riffle Shuffle (Two Versions)
Table Riffle Shuffle (Three Versions including the Zarrow Shuffle and Push Through Riffle Shuffle as taught by Allan Ackerman to J C in Las Vegas in 1997)

***

;) Some things I'd like to highlight:

Singapore's most respected close up worker, Uncle Bob, has a show to do in the evening but he has graciously agreed to grace the event from noon till 5pm, so do take the chance to talk to him! My dearest mentor in magic, Uncle Bob holds a wealth of knowledge and expertise & would be one of the best magic veterans to talk to if you have any questions about the art :)

His CHINESE CONNECTION domino transposition effect is simply brilliant (those magicians looking for something creative & different from the usual coins/ cards/ mentalism stuff should really CHECK THIS OUT!) and made available in very limited quantities. Produced in even smaller quantities are his ULTIMATE SHELLS ^_^ Made with love by Uncle Bob, they are impressive and each set come with a perfect pea to start your favorite 3 shell game routine immediately! Please note that his creations are only available from The Little Magic Shop... EXCLUSIVELY!

While providing a list of the items online right now may seem logical for sales, it isn't quite fair to those who come on Friday so I'm afraid I won't release the 'reservation option'. Sorry about that Thomas!

Those who'd be coming down, do try to come early before all the goodies are snapped up  FYI, there will be a total of 6 BRAND NEW MAGIC EFFECTS WORTH US$20 EACH to be given away this Good Friday, as well as, MAGIC FREEBIES too with purchases. Read the first post above for full details

To answer your question Sheeke... While the magic studio is where I work (or rather, my alter ego, 'Magic Babe' *grin*), this is not a brick & motar shop. It is really The Little Magic Shop's office, and I still work this online :) I'm prepping the magic studio for this special one off event, so don't miss this!!!! Btw, Ade, you're right... the silhouetted girl in the new TLMS logo is me. You're a very smart cookie! *grin* Kudos to Roland (you're the sweetest!!!) for coming up with this AWESOME logo for The Little Magic Shop. I so love it so much!!!

And yes, Ade, to your question about coins and all - SMALL CHANGE IS ALL GOOD... it's cash terms only, so no cheques, credit cards or NETS please :P LOL... By the way, there will be some further surprises, but I shan't spoil this for you guys :g: :g: :g: I'll leave y'all to find out the sweet surprises when you come down this Friday! Kekeke...

Can't wait to see you guys this Good Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CHEERIOS...
ningy ^_^

sheeke - April 2, 2007 04:02 PM (GMT)

cheers

LarryDK - April 3, 2007 01:06 AM (GMT)
Hey guys, Its an event not to be missed, I myself will be there also. Though you might have seen the show, heard the lectures, did the magic. But its always a blessing to be about to see it again, hear it again, and create wonder.

Get down there, not just for the things, not just for the free talks, but also, support SMC's great event of the year, its good friday anyway.. :)

This reminds me that I haven touch my cards for a long time man.. Bzzz..

So see you guys there!!

dry_gin - April 3, 2007 10:58 AM (GMT)

lukold - April 3, 2007 04:38 PM (GMT)
Wow! 2 professionals and MAGIC SALE, that thing you've always wanted at a lower price! O.O
I know i'm going =D

Ning - April 4, 2007 01:44 AM (GMT)
Yup... 2 of Singapore's most well known industry professionals will be there sharing their magic & experience, and I'm sure if you ask them politely, Uncle Bob & J C would be more than happy to indulge you with photos/ questions and more ^_^ They're very nice people!!!

Oh yeah, one thing I must stress again... terms of sale are cash only & the magic freebies that are given away with every $30 spent per customer is limited to 50 sets on a first come, first serve basis ;) So! Come early to be the first few to check out all the goodies available. If you come too late, there may not be many things left!

From the States, the 6 mystery items for the TLMS lucky draw (as mentioned, worth US$20 EACH!) are BRAND NEW items that are only just newly available on the magic market. With one held every hour, the lucky draw will be conducted fair & square... those eligible (folks who spend $50 and above) will be given slips to write their details in and it'd be dropped into a clear bowl (hahaha... no force!) and the winner gets to come up & pick his/her prize the same way too! ;)

If anyone has any questions, feel free to holler! Friday's coming up reaaaaaaaaaaaaaal soon!!!

Ning :)

thatsyafiq - April 4, 2007 02:52 PM (GMT)
Haha. Will not give this event a miss! I'm not really sure on what buses to take and all though. Will work out the way myself. See all of ya! :)

jcsum - April 4, 2007 03:49 PM (GMT)
Hi all,

What started out in concept by Ning as a simple magic sale is turning into a fantastic magic event for all TLMS customers and SMC members!

I look forward to seeing you all on Friday! I'll be in the studio for most of the day and will be delighted to talk to anyone... if you would like to talk.

Or, if I might have anything you would like me to show, I'll be most happy to do so too.

See you in 2 days!

Best,

J C

I'm not really sure on what buses to take and all though. Will work out the way myself.

From Aljunied MRT, bus stop no. 81081, take one of the following bus no: 40, 62, 63, 100, 158, 125. Alight at third stop (counting the one you board as the first). Walk from the alighted bus stop PAST the petrol kisk and turn into the small road there - TADA.. Biztech centre.

Hope this helps. :D

Friday is tomorrow!! I can't wait!! :g:

Ade.

BangHao - April 5, 2007 05:06 AM (GMT)
Tomorrow will be the "magic" sales, anyone that is free tomorrow can come down to check out the products, meet magicians in Singapore and make new friends over there. I have seen Uncle Bob 3 shells and i give it a 5 thumb up for it, it is superb so don't give it a miss.

Ning - April 6, 2007 03:17 PM (GMT)
I just got back 5 mins ago & I'd like to say THANK YOU to all those to came and supported this event today  It was brilliant because it was not just a dealer booth thingy thing, but also a magic event in its own right!

Kudos to Uncle Bob who performed his original magic, as well as, sharing his thoughts on many strong magic classics. Many people purchased his Ultimate Shells & Chinese Connection, so I'm sure those of you are enjoying the magic now!

A big hand to J C Sum as well, who did a great job as my pitch man (thanks J C, your cheque's in the mail :P) and those who watched his shuffling workshop had many good things to say about it.

Honestly, I couldn't have done it without Ade, Shaun & Bang @ the dealer booth as well... you guys are angels ^_^ A nod as well to the SMC mods and regulars who came by, helping out by giving support, directions, suggestions, and taking photos of the event! You guys are SO awesome... I'm really blessed to have good friends like you guys!!!

Once again, hearty CONGRATS to the lucky 6 winners today - Markiebeth, Wesley He, Eugene, Rolandlim, Kennection & Ben! :g: All of them walked away with spanking prizes during the lucky draws held every hour during the sale!

Stay tuned for photos... ;)

Cheers,
Ning: Tired, but happy *grin*

thatsyafiq - April 6, 2007 03:49 PM (GMT)
Lol, I am GLAD I came down! I enjoyed every second of it. I laughed UNCOUNTABLE times today and met a lot of new people, most of which are true professionals in the art. It was seriously a hell of a funny day! Especially Mr.Enrico's heart-moving trick. Hahaha..J C Sum's shuffling workshop was very detailed and well-carried-out. It's just a good day lah what can I say haha.

Peace!

Syafiq

i feel like an idiot now. somehow i always had this idea that this sale was going to be some time at night. So when i went to check the details of it this afternoon (at 5pm), i realised that i was going to miss it. What a retard i am. But i hope everyone had fun and it's such a pity that i missed it..

I'm glad i was of help... Hopefully i did ok! :P

The sales was a great and fun event, and i think all of us enjoyed ourselves. I spoke to quite a few SMC people (I think) but i have no idea who's who though...so forgive me if i meet you next time and have to ask for your names!

I learnt quite some from the false shuffling workshop and truly enjoyed myself greatly. Hope all who went had fun too!

Cheerios.
Ade.

Ning - April 7, 2007 05:21 AM (GMT)
Ade, you're an angel  No doubt about that!

LOL... this picture seriously tickles me. Those who came down yesterday might know. There are 2 things on the table that aren't real magic effects - it was a running gag to see if people actually were interested. To my surprise... Someone really wanted to buy it!

Can you see which 2 "Underground Effects" I'm referring to? I had to tell people it wasn't for sale!!!! *LOL* ;) Happy looking!

Oh my god... Just thinking about it makes me want to laugh sooo much.
Nyx and I had a hard time trying to control ourselves from laughing outright when the 'Underground Effect' was being performed!!
That was great fun!

jcsum - April 7, 2007 09:03 AM (GMT)
I think we all had a great time. I had awesome fun meeting, talking to and learning from many new faces (to me) as well as mingling with old ones.

The TLMS event itself was hugely successful based on turnout and all the magic goodies that were snapped up! I think Ning has even more things in store for upcoming events so look out for that.

Thanks for paying attention to the 'False Shuffling' workshop. It was an informal session that had an unexpected large turn-up. On the discussion of my handling fo the Zarrow Shuffle, I shared my 'Topsy Turvy Ace' routine in detail with several people, including the colourchanging deck kicker. Thanks to Francis for reminding me of Darwin Ortiz's handling that allows the four Aces first to be shown, openly placed into the deck and subsequently controlled with the strip-out shuffle that perfectly sets up the cards for the rest of the effect.

As for the 'underground items', I think they will be a staple of future magic events as well :-)

Ning - April 7, 2007 05:27 PM (GMT)
Honestly, for me, it meant a lot that my folks came by *blush* And it was a timely surprise too, so I got my dad to pick out the next hourly winner & Roland went home with the new visual Coin Thru Box effect by Jesse Feinberg

Lukold just sent me the photos he took as well (lol... they look very distinctively different from Nyx's so you'll know who took what just by looking at them!), so do check it out at the same URL, here!

Gonna get some shut-eye now, those heading down for the TPY Delifrance meeting... well, cya in just a bit! *grin*

Ta for now, more later...
