Hi. I need help. I need to know what to do if an audience member wants to cut the deck because they figured out that you falsed cut it

Actually, may I know what type of card trick that you are trying to perform? Is it a deck that is stacked or just a normal deck of cards? Are you trying to control the chosen card to the position that you wanted before the audience insist on cutting the deck?

From my opinion, let say if it is a normal deck of cards and you have already controlled your card to the position that you wanted (assuming it is at the top), what I would suggest is to ask the audience why do you need to cut the deck again if the deck is already being cut? If they have seen you controlling the card to the top earlier on, you can simply convince the audience that the card which they have choosen is not at the top or buttom by doing a d****e l**t and shows the buttom too.

Moreover, if the audience manage to see that you have do a false cut which is not convincing enough, there might be some loop hole on your side and definitely must need to put in more practice to master the technique correctly. Normally I would do some shuffles that is even more convincing than cutting the deck.

Well, there are a lot of variations to handle this heckler response. Hope my suggestion can assist you.

Cheers

If you have cut the deck real well, I doubt the spectator would want to cut the deck. Maybe you need to do a variation to your cuts.

If they cut it in your hands, you can always leave a break..

Perhaps it could be something to do with your presentation? Do you have alot of deadtime during the trick whereby nothing is happening or you're not talking?

For me, I realise that alot of times when people catch on at something and ask heckling questions, it's usually because I give them the chance to. If you pace the trick in such a manner that they are too busy to think about what is "actually" happening, they won't have the chance to ask you something like that.

If they want to cut it, just let them cut it and you can neutralize the cut with a pass.

Crimp the bottom card. After your audience cut the deck, you cut back to the crimp

I give you a solution. Taking in account that your deck must be in an order to perform that effect.

If the audience request to cut your deck, let them do it, and change your inital effect to an impromtu effect. The reason behind doing all that is to break off the defence of the audience. Yes, it is easy to say that doing another cut back to the original position will just do the trick. But what if the audience, cut the deck, square it, and ask you to do it like that, and then you cut the deck again. To them, it doesnt make sense that why you have to cut the deck again. Thus, I will suggest that if they inital to cut the deck, do another effect that don't require that order.

Now, you got a routine that will need that kind of order of deck after that. Sure enough, while you are in your impromtu effect, keep in mind not to shuffle the deck and always do f**se shuffles, the order of the deck will be kept the same, (Though its being cut) But right after the effect, during the audience's digestion time, you look through the cards, get a cut to the point you want, and flip over, wa la, you back to the order le.

In short, the purpose is not to cut back to the original position and continue what you wanted, but adapt to what the audience wanted, if they expect you to perform a magic, they expecting you to do it after they cut the deck, not they cut and you cut again. And also, the first time that they inital the action, and you prove them wrong by showing a good effect, the defence is down, and they are sure that the deck is normal to work with, and just keeping the conversation going on, they wont suspect anything.

Hope this help. :)

Larry solution is another good way, especially when you have not really start the routine yet. Let them cut the deck with a knife if they want.

However sometimes it's not that easy to change the effect in the middle of the routine. For example what if a card is choosen and signed, and you controlled it to the top with false cuts. Then the spectator wanna cut the deck again you just change the effect? It will be a bit weird.

One solution is to p*** or c**** the card so that you can control the card to the top again after they cut the deck.

If the card is controlled to the top and they wanted to cut it, P*lm off the card and you are in controll of the card.
