Title: Stage Effect For A Speech?
Description: What you recommend?
muscleaxl - April 12, 2007 03:51 AM (GMT)
Ok guys, need your input here.
I have a friend who will be giving a speech at a Toastmaster meeting 2 weeks later. The topic is "Self-Resilience" (not sure of the spelling) and he want to illustrate the point that alot of things are just in your mind using magic.
So any stage effects will you recommend? No need big props, can last enough for max 30 sec.
Ps: This friend is a magic lover too, but both he and me lack experience for stage magic so need some help from the stage people here.

Hey! You might wanna try some mentalism tricks like the hand twisting stuff done on channel 8? The left over right thingy,
Or if u might wanna spend a little cash which i feel is worth it, you might wanna get mentalism 101. You can check it out on online shops.Trust me on that, it is extremly funny, the cost is not very high and is a pack small plays big kind of stuff.(great for adults)
=)

30secs? hmm.. Want to invest on a floating table? Or if that is too costly, why not zombie ball? But all this takes some practice.

Toastmaster. Hmmm. It would be interesting if you start off without saying anything. That, my friend, would get everyone's attention. What about "Silent Treatment"? Gives a mentalism effect "that alot of things are just in your mind using magic. "

Why not try self standing rope??
You could talk a funny story out of it.
It is not costy and easy to do.
anyway what is toastmaster?
i ask my teacher who is in it and he said that it is the box u use to put whip potato at KFC=.= :off:

I dont think silent treatment is pratical cause its too small, unless theres a very big version of it haha.
But if your audience is of palour size it might be perfect!
No offence joel!

You can always make huge placards for silent treatment according to need. You can make it the size of a bus even, if you want - provided you can still flip it. Handling is the same.

Then I changed jobs, and coudn't resume attending the meets.
