I do the triple color changing effect in every show. It alwys gets gasps. I produce a red silk and turn a black cane into red. the red cane then instantly changes to white. I then do all the ditching and vanish the white cane with Kabuki throw streamers. Hope it helps. My 2cents
Bao Long and a few others were at City Harvest when i did my live kids show. Maybe they'll give you a better idea, in terms of an audience view.

i am quite interesting with the color changing cane..
is it a props or just a trick? where can i purchase and learn it?
for what we saw on TV, normally a magician took out a piece of paper or silk then burn it, suddenly a cane appear, that is appearing cane, right?
but can we continue doing color changing with the cane or we have to change another one?
and the one change from a cane into a silk, what cane is it?
does anyone help to tell me the name of the cane and where can i buy this kind of cane?
thanks!

Appearing cane is a single effect thing. You can make it appear in whatever way you like: silk to cane, feather to cane, can from thin air... etc.
However, the colour changing cane is different. It is derived from the idea of a vanishing cane. I will say it's quite a versatile prop. You can make it into a clever routine. I've seen lots of performances with it.
Usually, magicians use this cane alongside with several coloured silks. But, usually it's a means of getting into something else. Kyle uses throw streamers. There are other magicians that uses doves with it as well. It all depends on your creativity. Everyone knows the cane can change colour, but in what context you use it makes alot of difference. Perhaps, you can think about what you want to use as a motivation for the colour change.
For example, there's this magician, Lu Chen.. he changed a white cane to red and simultaneously producing a white dove. So, it's an idea of the white color of the cane was stripped and was given life, and thus, a dove.

Correction! Haha, Shufi he produced a red dove(the colour came off the cane and transformed into a red dove!).
Guess the exam stress from your school has gotten to you already!
Same for me, having suscidal tendencies alr!
See ya soon bro!

Hey Edward, if you are working towards having your own silent act. Think about what you want to do for the 3-5minutes silent act. Have a theme in mind. It might help. You wont want to go up on stage appearing to show a demonstration of your props, but rather telling the audience some kind of a story or something. It's like a mime with music to enhance the mood.
Having a silent act is always a great start to any show. But for that 3-5minutes act, trust me that there's a lot of work and preparation to be done before hand. folding silk, loading up your jacket and more. So, you really have to be aware of all these.
Cheers!
