What is a good resource for learning blindfold effects? I'm quite new to this although I've browse through a few articles here and there from various books. What would be really astonishing? Any DVDs on the topic?

John Archer has a dvd called Blindfold Tips that teaches his routine. Tom Jorgenson has an effect called Brazen the Blindfold.

I don't own any of the above works though so I can't really review the material.

I also heard that there's works on a dvd devoted solely to Blindfold Routines. Not sure when it'll be released though.

I've seen these on the market. Has anyone bought these? Is it good?

Patrick Kuffs has a way of using aluminium foil as a blind fold in Mind Stunts 2 DVD.

Here are some of the marketed items.
It's a Lu Lu by Docc Hilford
Brazen by Tom Jorgenson

John Archer's DVD is good. Anyway, he did explain the step by step moves with 3 other magicians which i don't know, but it is good in terms of proper steps to note and ways to recover from problems if anything happen.

For me, I used the blindfold method in John Archer, as supplies can be got easily from DIY store, but the problem is, there is no more $1 dollar US coins anymore. There you have to use Half dollars, though the size should not affect the performance, but it does matter if you are not careful with the smaller size, you know what I mean if you got the DVD.

Other than that, I got the Osterlind Steel Blindfold, It includes a hood and some other things like a paste, surgery tape, and a book. No DVD, but the current one have. You can use the paste, but to me, its quite useless. Reasons because its just a waste of time to add more things onto your eyes that doesn't need more justification that you cannot see. But the steel blindfold is good. It provide genuine prove that you cannot see, because its steel not cloth and can be examined, people will be dumbfold.

In short, I combine the 2 blindfold together to form my own blindfold structure, much based on the idea of John Archer.

As for effects, John Archer teaches a single effect of reading a drawing on a paper, you be surprised that, the drawing actually face the audience during the reading, thats a way to do it of course. The for Osterlind Metal blindfold, inside contains 3 effects, read objects, drawing, and duplicating, which i don't really like as it too simple for a blindfold act. Thus, using the power of a blindfold, I proceed to getting more different effects and then tried using blindfold.

Its a costly act than any other magic, just the John Archer cost US75 right? Others can cost over US100. I got mine from a great friend in Malaysia.

Another good source will be Corinda 13 steps to Mentalism. This is a super great book, though its hard to find now, but if you got it, its a gem. Inside teaches from cold reading, to basic blindfold. Thus it does do some help to the people starting in mentalism. :)

The Lu Lu effect looked promising. :) Will be good to see someone doing it. :)

Too bad TLMS does not supply it.

Sorry, I must be really blind. Use too much blindfold. LOL!!

By the way, I read the reviews in the magic cafe and in them, nothing much was spoken on this book. Thus, not much info you can find it justify whether is it a good book or not. I personally is very much interested in this "sounds too good" effect.
