Title: Coin In Bottle
chanzian - May 23, 2007 08:16 AM (GMT)
Hi guys, i am looking for a nice coin through bottle routine. Anyone has any good suggestions? There is the L&L publishing one, but does it come with the f***ing coin? If not how much is one of those coins?

I have one coin through bottle effect. No gimmick coin needed. You show the bottle empty (you can even tear off the label of the bottle if you want to show that no coins are hidden.
Ask them to watch closely at the end of the bottle and make sure there are no holes or hidden coin. You take a coin and you slam it through the bottom. They can see the coin pass through from the end of the bottle. The best part is you can hand the bottle for them to inspect. Btw the coin is stuck inside the bottle, meaning there is no way to get the coin out unless you cut the bottle.
It is a great trick and you can hand it out as a gift for your audience.
Not sure if you can find this around, cos I came up with the method and I cannot find any identical effect on the market.
chanzian - May 23, 2007 09:24 AM (GMT)
Ace, that sounds wicked!! Singapore coins can? No gimmick coin required and it's so clean it can be inspected? i cannot believe it.

I use the 50cent, which is the biggest local coin. The best part is when they open the cap and try to pour the coin out, they can't. The coin is stuck inside the bottle. When i describe the effect to my friends they say it's impossible. The next day I show it to them and they are like O.o!!!
I cannot believe it either when i perform it in front of the mirror.
chanzian - May 23, 2007 09:55 AM (GMT)
What kind of bottle you use? Plastic ones or glass bottles like the beer bottles?
ZiAn
Ace - May 23, 2007 10:04 AM (GMT)
Plastic bottles. Not sure if it can be done on glass bottle, did not try it cos it's quite weird to carry a glass bottle around. Maybe I will get a glass bottle today and see if it works. A plastic bottle looks more casual and I use it as my water bottle so my friends are used to seeing the bottle.
The coin penetrates through the bottom of the bottle, and the audience can clearly see it passes through the bottom. This is another thing that sells the illusion.
muscleaxl - May 23, 2007 10:11 AM (GMT)
What? Sounds like Infusion...
Did you come up the method yourself? Any chance we can discuss it over coffee? hehehe...
Ace - May 23, 2007 10:20 AM (GMT)
Yup, i came up with the method myself. But I'm not sure if someone had the same method and effect. I looked through all the coin through bottle effect i can find on the market and did not find anything identical to this coin through bottle I performed.
And it's not like infusion lol! The bottle is closed for the entire effect, so you wun even have the chance to slip a f****** coin inside it!
Note: the f****** is not some foul language, it refers to a certain gimmick :P
chanzian - May 23, 2007 10:25 AM (GMT)
Haha.. Axl, if Ace agrees to go coffee with you to discuss about this please count me in. Haha. Anyway i really cannot believe how that is possible. I would like to see the effect someday!
But i am looking for something that penatrates a glass bottle so that it can be a excellent bar trick. Drinking with some friends, empty bottles on the table, you're all set.

Have you had a look at "Behold the The Scarabaeus"
I think I mentioned this before somewhere.
It is an effect where you can use a borrowed signed coin and borrowed bottle. No set up. Either coin to bottle, multiple coins to bottle, or even handphone to bottle. Can be done close up.
Here

Yo Axl bro... I think you need more than just coffee to learn the effect from Ace. You might need to buy him a countless rounds of coffee. :P
Ace: Good job in coming with such a great method. From what it sounds it looks very nice. Hope to see you performed it live if there's a chance.
ZiAn: If you're really interested in a coin in bottle effect you can check out "Sealed In" by Alex Ward. The bottle cap is still factory sealed in his method and can be handled out immediately for examination. This however works only for plastic bottles. For glass bottle you might want to check out Kevin Parker's Passin Thru. This by far I feel is the most visual method for Coin thru glass bottle. The spec can slowly see the coin melt thru the bottle and then be handled out for examination.
Cheers
Jerome
iNvIsIbLe - May 23, 2007 01:02 PM (GMT)
Wow, Ace...the method you describe looks amazing to me. Maybe I must see the live performance one day to feel the kicker. Well, so far I find that Kevin Parker's Passin Thru" not bad but I have not try using plastic bottle for this routine.
Ace - May 23, 2007 04:27 PM (GMT)
D***....Just watched Sealed In" by Alex Ward.
I'm working on a coin in factory SEALED bottle effect too.... And if i'm not wrong we are using the same method >_<
But seems like he did not solve the biggest headache i had when i was working on the effect. The coin is not stuck inside the bottle. Meaning you can still get it out if you pour out the water. Correct me if i'm wrong.
Think I'll spend the night perfecting the method -_- just had a few new ideas. Hope i can come up with a coin stuck in sealed bottle effect. Sigh.
Ace - May 23, 2007 10:37 PM (GMT)
Finally I managed to find a method to melt a coin into a factory sealed bottle. And the coin is stuck inside.
Performed it to my brother who was watching midnight soccer. He was like O.o!! and asked me where did I learn it from lol.
There are still some adjustment which I need to make so that the whole effect looks better....but for now i think i just need to sleep. @_@

That really sounds interesting... would be pleased if you could show a video on this.
Ace - May 24, 2007 07:16 AM (GMT)
I will try to get a video of it. Maybe by this weekend lol.
ThomasLim - May 24, 2007 09:34 AM (GMT)
Thanks and waiting for it. Please tear off the label of the bottle if possible :)
Just saw the "Behold the The Scarabaeus". Wondering if the bottle can be examined at the end. If so, it will be exactly like what Ace has described
Ace - May 24, 2007 09:45 AM (GMT)
Behold the The Scarabaeus uses a very different method from my version of coin through bottle. The effect is different as well....I cannot slam a handphone inside the bottle using my version.
There are ways that you can end clean when you perform Behold The Scarabaeus, but you need guts to perform it. Cannot say more without exposing the method -_-
For my version you can choose to empty the bottle or have the bottle factory sealed. For Behold The Scarabaeus the bottle has to be empty.
For my version I can hand out the bottle to the audience and let them check that the bottle is sealed and the coin is stuck inside the bottle. If they want to remove the coin the only way is to cut the bottle and take out the coin. They can be the one cutting the bottle. I don't think the same thing can be done if you use Behold the The Scarabaeus.
In my opinion my version is more practical and much easier to perform.
And yes I'll tear off any labels!! The label will actually hinder the view of the audience -_- You can see how the coin went inside the bottle better without the label blocking.
joeltay81 - May 24, 2007 10:02 AM (GMT)
Behold The Scarabaeus. Bottle can be examined after everything. The effect uses a borrowed bottle (that has been used). After inserting the handphone or coins, you take a knife out and saw the bottle open to remove the article you place in there. YOu can even shake the bottle to show that the handphone is really inside. With the gimmick ready, Scarabaeus is impromptu in the sense that you use a borrow bottle and handphone/coin. No set up needed.
It isounds like a totally different effect from what ACE is describing.
phsycofreak - May 25, 2007 09:33 AM (GMT)
there is this coin in bottle which looks quite exactly to ace's..
that is>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> AQUATIC
by sean fields( found in his 1337 notes)
i have the notes, and i have to say omg . this coin thru bottle is 99% impromptu, no gimmicked coins , no gimmicked bottles, u dont need to pour the water out of the bottle .there are three phases to this routine
1) the bottle is borrowed , examined, and everything is checked, label is ripped, magician borrowes a coin and keeps it at his finger tip and the slams it against the bottome of the bottle, and it VISIBLY just melts thru(very very visual >> need practise)
2) the magician shows his hand completely empty , and then just pulls the coin from the bottle(visibly).
3) the magician offers to do it one more time, he keeps the bottle on the table and the slams the bottle against the coin and agian it visibly just passes thru
all i got to say is that this effect by him is ver very very visual. This is a totally new approach to coin thru bottle. a technique never been invented( pure genius)
Ace - May 25, 2007 10:20 AM (GMT)
Wow sounds cool!
Can the whole bottle be examined with the coin stuck in the bottle at the end of the trick? Is the bottle factory sealed?
Btw i hope i can post a video of my version by tonight.
I cannot find a good video camera. Camera phones are too small for you guys to see anything -_-
I'm going to use the web cam instead. It might be abit slow but at least you guys can have a idea of what the effect looks like.
Ace - May 25, 2007 03:10 PM (GMT)
Hey guys I just uploaded the clip of my coin through bottle on the magic clip section.

Yeah. It sound cool but lazy to try.
phsycofreak: have you tried it?
christo - May 25, 2007 04:38 PM (GMT)
absolutely cool and visual
HOW DID YOU DO THAT?!
i think you can market your effect already
very very good
:)
Ace - May 25, 2007 04:54 PM (GMT)
Hey thanks for your comment! =)
I really spent alot of time and effort on this effect.
I hope this effect can make the coin through bottle routine look more visual and impossible.
phsycofreak - May 28, 2007 02:35 AM (GMT)
ok , here it is , the bottle can be examined( no holes or any funny thing), the bottle is not factory sealed, however if you have labelled you can use that technique,
yes i have tried it i have gotten very very good reactions, and it is very visual . the part which hits them the most is where u PULL the coin out. really hits them . its marvellous
christo - May 28, 2007 09:43 AM (GMT)
Just one question
is the bottle totally new and sealed?
if it is not, maybe i got an idea how to do it :P
bigbadwolf - May 29, 2007 12:43 AM (GMT)
I see a lot of "fishermen" in here. -_-
christo - May 29, 2007 10:14 AM (GMT)
Dont say until like that la
not here to heck or to dig secret
coz i just thought of an idea to make the coin penetrates visually through the bottle wit no other funny movements :P
haha
peace
bigbadwolf - May 29, 2007 10:34 AM (GMT)
Ok la ok la. Paiseh lor. Misunderstood you.
Peace too ^_^ ^_^ ^_^
muscleaxl - May 29, 2007 11:11 AM (GMT)
Finally I get to see the video. It looks very good.....!!
So when is our coffee session, Ace?
phsycofreak - May 30, 2007 02:07 AM (GMT)
no singlish pls , and the bottle is not factory sealed. well it does not need to be=>
1) u borrow their bottle
2)u let them see its their bottle and an ordinary one( no switching of bottles)
all i can say is one thing, whatever u think is the method,
IT IS NOT( trust me, its pure genius, the coin is not under label or cap or any elswhere shi* , trust me its a great set of notes.. he has a signed Note( bill) thru glass, very very very visual also, the best approach so far, and very very clean ur hand can be shown empty
noob_magicx - May 30, 2007 07:32 AM (GMT)
