Title: Loops / Elastic Thread
bigbadwolf - May 24, 2007 01:03 PM (GMT)
I'm currently considering the Yigal Elastic Dispenser or Ben Harris Ultra E****c T****d.
Anybody using l***s / e t here? I find Yigal's l***s to be fairly fragile and breaks easily. Any advice?
By the way, is it possible to get a whole spool of e t in Singapore?
Thanks

i use to use Yigal l***s, but they are just too expensive n break easily. therefore i switch to PET2.0 they are i think the best e t i had come across and you don't have to worry about if breaking so what it break u have tons of it

Is the PET 2.0 from Penguin?

oh really, how good iszit? never use the UET before. Don't mind giving us a review of that
ThomasLim - May 28, 2007 02:52 AM (GMT)
Xproject, I think I could not give any review on UET.... it will again be deleted without knowing what has happened. It will be a waste of my effort trying to share some of my humble opinion :(
Moderator, please delete this post if it expose again.

thomas, Maybe your post really lead to exposure, without you knowing. Because l****s and t*****s are not easily explainable without exposing. I will suggest you PM the poster to highlight to him or her. Any information will only be between you and him.
Ya, the sharing to everyone will be disabled then, but have to also consider those people that lurk in here and knows the dark secret of magic. It wont be good for thread users. :)
Just my thoughts.

Use Things like IT or T or T****d or L**ps
No description of things which suggest the "truth", please... especially something as wonderful as IT.
ThomasLim - May 29, 2007 04:11 AM (GMT)
Ya... I totally understand your concern. In this case, I suggest the Topic Title be deleted or put *** as well. It already expose what you intend to protect.
Do we really need to go into such extent that everything got to use *? Do we need to express card as c**d, deck as d**k and coin as c**n? To me, this is over doing it here.
Will the moderator delete one's post completely just because it accidently "expose" (each individual moderators has your own guideline) or you will just help to ammend with * if you think it exposes? Talking that, Larry's post still contains some exposure, and I believe it is accidentally, right? Delete or Ammend?
Sorry.... I know this is :off:
OK.... Back to topic,
IMHO, UET is good in the sense that it is more I***e and it is much s***ger than the normal T***d as it dont B***k easily. Most importantly, UET is E***c and you can make your own L***p with it.
Like you all, I do not encourage exposure. Please dont get me wrong. :ph43r: Maybe I should just stop here....

Anything that does not "expose" or able to "suggest" the secret behind is fine. Including any names that laypeople would never understand. Eg:
-Ramsey Sublety
-Shapeshifter or Eradnase Change
-Tenkai or Goshman (but not the P word after that)
Anything which could suggest the method is definitely not fine...
eg:
- DL (for obvious reason)
- Classic P or Classic P**m
- Riffle F or the word F**ce
- M***ed D**k
-IT or ET (also for obvious reason)
Anything else should be common sense ok? I see too many **** I also blur.... :P

Base on the ellusionist latest product (Guerrilla Guide To Using Loops ), I feel like starting to use e t for my card tricks. Any guys can give me advice on what should i get? And most importantly where can I get one?
I also have problem with the knot i tied. Maybe there are several ways to tie the knot ? Please help.

i have tried alot of diff e t and i felt the best elastic thread is the pet2.0 it one of the best out there and it cheap. you can get it at penguinmagic
Mod's note. You have been suspended for 10 days for posting rubbish to increase post count. You will be barred from using the marketplace also.

i use Mesika's elastics, highly recommend them
durable , super stretchable , top quality
a tad pricey compared for 100 ft considering u get 200 ft for PET 2.0 for around the same price but personally i feel if u tie ur loops well and learn how to reduce breakage u'll be fine
u don't want to scrimge on quality when it comes to IT becos u'll find it very fruStrating

Thinking of getting this too after seeing the preview on Ellusionist. Anybody have a good review? Comparison between Yigal's and the PET2.0? Thanks.
alafista - June 4, 2007 03:22 PM (GMT)
I also hope to hear more reviews on it ~ :D
I'm wonder which is better? mesika's elastics? UET? or PET? Any recommendations?
If the PET 2.0 is good maybe a few of us can gather and mass order to save some $$$ on shipping

I just got my 100ft Yigal Mesika loops today.
first few attempts of making my own loops ain't easy. took me awhile to get used to the stress level of the thread. hopefully, no more wastage :P

I'd highly recommend Yigal's ones.
I've tried both and found Yigal's one to be strong enough and flexible enough for very demanding uses.
Perhaps the only problem is making them yourself.
It takes the right kind of knot (I'd recommend MDK) and the right kind of skill to make LPS at the right length and without any messy incomplete Knot.
In any case, it's a knack thingie.
It'll probably more than many attempts to get used to making perfect LPS for yourself.
