Ok.. Here the situation guys.. Lets say.. You're with a few new girls you've met recently and you were all chilling in a shopping mall and end up sitting down in a fast food joint.. They heard from many that you're a wonderful magician and think you are, thus requesting enthusiastically for you to show them something really cool? *Thinking you're good means higher expectations yea? =P

Let's say you're sitting down "barehanded" How would you start to bring them into the magic mood? And how would you carry on after that?

Lastly, what would you do if they request for MORE?! Haha~

Firstly, whenever i have a girl ask me to perform or do anything could be nt magic i would be a pricetag on myself like i would say give me a kiss or a hug then i show you something.
Secondly always be prepare.

yeah, for me i tend to perform mentalism effecs for girls due to girls prefare mind stuff compared to guys who are more on the visual side. Just to share with you one of my favourite efects to do is the centre tear combine with cold reading. What i do is i have her think of somebody close to her or somebody whom have pass away. After i get the person name i would cold read on the person how he look ect.

Bare handed in an impromptu casual meeting? Are you thinking of getting to know them better? Ever thought about getting them into the mood of magic by "flirting" with them and establishing a rapport with them?

I thought the above comment about getting paid with a hug and kiss works well. Should get most girls away from asking you for a trick if you are just not in the mood to perform.

Or as I sometimes do, tell the girl that you will try to read her mind. Ask her to look deeply in your eyes and then later joke about her having sexy eyes and that you love being a magician - people do whatever they are told. That should break the ice, get them laughing and bring in the topic of magic at the same time.

Perform Stigmata. But put a heart in front of the name as it appears on your arm. Tease her about her liking that name (whether the name is male or female). If it is the name of the person she really likes... she will freak out and maybe you will even get to know if she is attached or not even :lol: (If that is your purpose). If she denies liking that person, point to your arm and say that the thoughts she sent you indicate that it is. Continue to tease and insist it is. Likely to get a fierce denial and lots of laughter.

Or if you are familiar with cold reading. Do it on her. Ask her to think of a card and then based on her choice, perform cold reading on her. Kenton Kneppers has quite a number of resources on cold reading. Check it out.

That should leave them with a good impression of you. ;)

The reason i say give me a hug then i show you something is not to use it to get aways when you're not prepare. It my way of flirting and to show her that she dealing with a man nt a kid. As a magician you should be prepare there no lame excuses for you not to be prepare

Hmm... If they requested to see magic, I think they should be in a "magic" mood already.

If you don't want to get any of them, then drop the kisses and hugs thing. Sometimes it would backfire at you, making them think you are some kind of jerk. Of course, if your personality can pull it off, then by all means.

If you want to get one of them, then the best thing is NOT to perform for her first. Perform for the worst-looking one in the group. Get the rest of the gals on your side before performing for her. Hurt her ego a bit before making her happy, you would be more valued.

Bare hands? Eh... If anyone has a ring and you can get a straw (or shoelace), you can do a ring penetration. Or very simple coin vanishes and production. Or yeah... Stigmata.

yea yea excatly you only do this on the girl you like, but seriously i don't waste time and my resoures on geting the approval from her friends or watever i go direct.

Well, If you have gal frenz like mine, kisses and hugs are common. (Thats the good thing for being a cheerleader)

Barehanded effect - Coin effects are the most instance you can go.

For me, Stigmata(non card version) and other common mentalism effects will be a good start. Other than that, bringing along a small set of effects, like J C Sum, will be good enough for a 20 min entertainment to the gals. As what Pam says, always be prepared. I yet to prepare a small kit for myself. :)

If they ask for more, tell them you will show them more the next time you see each other, lol, if they remember the next time they see you, just say, "Got meh?" :lol:

Well.. Everyone has different ways of performing to girls.. I love muscleaxl's technique of getting her best friends to your side.. It works very well.. Especially if you're after that one girl.. Xproject.. Your's may work too! sometimes no point beating around the bush? It depends on how much time u have to hang out with them.. Agree? =)

hahas thx man, the point is attraction is nt a choice if the gal is interested in your alreday y brother to gain over her friends approval unless her friends are pulling rank than you wanna push the gal once side for a sec and converse with her friends

small kit? y not have a sets of tricks in your wallet where when someone want you to perform you are always prepare. FOr me i have a full 20min mentalism act i have in my wallet. im nt going into the details of my act but im sure u can think of it. BUt just a few ideal for you guys 1. bend coin
2. notepad for centre tear

First of all, not everyone have wallets. (I myself don't bring wallet, i use money clips)

Secondly, Wallets sometime spoils the thing you keep inside, like cards being bent, esp.

Thirdly, if you are not carefully enough, you might expose the gimmicks inside your wallet, maybe.

Thus, people like me, I bring a small kit around. It will be great to take care of my props and make them look neat and straight.

Hm.. Larry.. What I would feel about carrying a kit around wherever you go, it seems a little too prepared? Especially when you're out on a meal and suddenly people want to see magic.. Then out comes a professional magic kit? I feel girls would probably see someone with a magic kit a magic geek? =P

It's true about wallets spoiling your cards.. I experienced that before and I'll never leave my packet tricks in it.. IMO.. Probably packet tricks in money clips would be good? What do you think? =)

Actually, I always have a deck in my briefcase. My friends don't find it strange anymore cos most of them know I'm into magic. And you mentioned that the gals know you are a magician, so it is only logical magicians do carry some " magic stuffs" with them. So shouldn't be a problem here.

But... if you only know them not too long, and you want to surprise them with your magic prowess, then cards maybe too obvious and a bit corny. You can try carry some Malaysian 50cents or 2 rubberbands for doing CMH.

Anyway, the point of getting the friends on your side is just to hurt her ego a bit. Cos if she's the prettiest in the group, she should be very used to getting attention. Make her feel "how come this guy is not looking at me?????" Then when you finally get to her, she would be like "Finally!!! He's paying attention!!!"

Trust me, it works!!!

PS: If you are very sure she likes you, then forget everything I've written... just ask to be your girlfriend. Period.

You've got to get all touchy and stuffs. :P

Tricks that invole touching the girl that you really like like stigmata (you could go like: ohh. squeeze harder) :P and personally paul 'pulse' would earn you that time to feel her hand.. :P

I think some day everyone will pass the stage of bringing magic stuff around. I know there is talk about being a '24/7' magician and everything, but I also know that many professional magicians just do not bother to be one. Maybe the exception is being able to perform when you want to, not just when you are asked to. So my suggestion is just to learn some tricks with objects that you don't have to carry around. Coins, coin in bottle/can, some impromptu mentalism effects, tricks with a pen, money tricks, bending forks, etc. If I can give reason for doing these instead of bringing packs of cards around, how about I say that these are probably more impressive rather than doing magic with something you brought?

The second thing is, it may even be good not to perform when asked to. Make them beg you everytime, and after a few (or many) times, you may perform ONE killer effect and that's it. Have them talk about it for ages, before you decide to accede to their request and perform another good one.

Indecent would be a very good effect to do anywher and anytime.
You can do your colour changing straw too paul. :P

Performing indecent would be rather angle sensitive and that would pose as a problem here, what excuses would you give so that you can cover your angle properly? I'm getting abit :off:

If you are interested in one of the girls( or all the girls) ,then there are a few effects you can do. Give the girl you like your business card and ask her to write her phone number on it. After she wrote the phone number give the card a shake and read out the phone number. She will say that's not her phone number, then you reply "opps, actually that's MY phone number. Call me when you wanna see more magic." If you have a deck of cards you can do that with poker cards too.

If you just want to perform magic for them, just do your favorite routines.

I'll have a "small magic kit" with me all the time.
My wallet is prepared for Fraud, Twisted bill switch, coin bite and other coin routines.
My left pocket will always have a deck of cards.
If I have a bag with me my coin through bottle will be inside it. I might drop a invisible deck inside it too.
Loops will be ready to go as well.

Normally I carry around a deck with me in my bag. Well fraud is always in my wallet also.

I meant touchy stuffs as in you have to involve the spectator (which is the girl that you like?) to help you in performing the effect and touching your hand in the case of stigmata? :D

Almost everytime I perform stigmata to girls, the rest of the audience will just go "wooo...." or "hor hor...." when I asked the girl to hold my hand. lol

In this case you are not touching the girl, but the girl is touching you. So they cannot acuse you of being too touchy with the girl.
