Title: You Are Who You Present Yourself As.

Here's just some of my input on how to improve your magic style.

Part 1: Approaching your target.
Ever so often, I see a magician go up to his audience and say," Hi would you like to see a trick." The word 'trick' suggests that you are not there to entertain them. Instead, it suggests that you are trying to fool them, trickster style. It results in meeting more hecklers. And this results in unhappiness between you and your audience...

Part 2: Your effects
You don't exactly have to structure your entire routine for an impromptu performance. No no no! Instead just remember, if you are approaching an audience, instead of them approaching you, start with a short, effective effect (lol). This allows you to see exactly how interested is your audience. If they are not, move on. If they are hecklers, move on. If they act weird, move on.

However, if you are approached by ur audience for magic, you can just shoot away.

Part 3: Taking your leave
Don't expect money when you approach people. On the other hand, if people approach you, chances are higher if you end on an effect that uses a note of a suitable domination. $10 is good. Sure, this tip has been given a lot. Cliche? Maybe. But hey it works, and thats all that matters.

Finally

These are all my personal opinion. It has helped me, and it should help you. Your input is necessary to make the world a better place, so help me here! ^.^

Thanks! if only i'd seen this b4 the NKF thingy...

another thing to add... get a good spot where others can see... erm.. others crowding you so they can come and crowd too heh... ALSO if ur effect is angle sensitive frm the back u might want to stand back towards a wall just in case ppl come a-flocking. Does that help?

If your effects are angle senssative, try getting another magician performing behind you. It really really helps!

LoL. I honestly need to diversify. Now I mostly do card effects. Maybe I do coin or something?
