Title: Joyal Stack
Description: Memorize a deck in 6 hours
Moondust - December 10, 2004 09:36 AM (GMT)
After learning about Richard Osterlind's stack, I realized that it was a fabulous concept. The only restriction was that you have to rely on mental calculations. Although Osterlind did teach various methods of making it easier to do the calculations required, it still did not eliminate the need to be quick in calculating.
This new instructional vid from Ellusionist seemingly has all the advantages of a stacked deck yet none of the abovementioned weaknesses. Check this out:
Joyal StackWhat do you guys think of this?

personally dont think this DVD is good.. There is a formular to remember 26 cards.. Will that work too?
iewgnod - December 10, 2004 01:06 PM (GMT)
remembering 26 cards is something like a partial stack?
won't be remembering juz the top 10 cards or so be better?
Moondust - December 10, 2004 06:47 PM (GMT)
Apparently, it seems that there are techniques to learn partial stacks and full deck... and it claims that no mathematical calculations are involved using the Martin Joyal stack.

I have learnt the Joyal stack and I can assure each and everyone of you, that you can learn it within the 6 hours. I myself have learnt it within 1 hour, and practiced to perfection within another. A total of 2 (two) hours.
On the cover, the book writes about having a 'brain inplant'. Yes, after reading this book, thou shall feel like you've had a brain inplant. Its THAT good. I strongly advise all of the serious magicians who don't know a stack, to learn this one.

Hey just been to the site.. I think it's not bad yeah? However, there might be too many.. I dont think we get to utilise them during our magic that often.. It then defeats the purpose of learning the stacks.

Hey Winder! It's January already! How's about it? Wanna share the book?
I'm still interested, so let me know if you still are.
Winder - January 19, 2005 09:24 AM (GMT)
Hehehehe.. I wish i could, but i don't have $$$$. Maybe try sharing it with mac :)
MagicalPam - January 19, 2005 10:08 AM (GMT)
Hmmmm, stacking deck ? I have tried and learned I dont know how many methods,
finally I realize that the best is still the simplest
One day, you will also learn that everything is in the presentation and how you could convince your audience,
now I choose the simplest stack , so that I could focus and concentrate on the audience,
please don't bother about fooling other magician, in the end of the day you want to entertain the layman ... ( and they are the one who will ever pay your bill if you are good enough :-)
My 2 cents worth thought
Pam

MagicalPam - January 19, 2005 10:42 AM (GMT)
Excellent, never thought about this before, I am sure it will work,

I will try...
Winder - January 19, 2005 10:48 AM (GMT)
Hahaha i tried it on a magician with a year experience and he started a conversation with me.
Magician: Erm.. Nice... You forced the card on me ?
Edwin: Erm.. I ribbon spread the deck, how did i force you in a ribbon spread position.
Magician: True.. True.. So whats that ?
Edwin: Mind reading :)
*Walks away*
Oops me and my conversation mood again. Hahaha ~
BuaYa - January 19, 2005 10:56 AM (GMT)
