Wow.. Seems like this is getting a good response.. I would like to ask.. How's the sound system going to be like? Will there be wireless microphones available.. Or even the wired ones with a stand?

The sound system is similar to that of a typical theatrette or auditorium. Regarding wireless microphones, we'll have to check that out, but at the very least, wired microphones with stands shouldn't be a problem.

The sound system is one of the more important aspects. You can be sure you'll be heard. Don't worry; we'll take care of it.

2 questions..

How many seater theatrette/auditorium will it be?

Will there be a giant screen for everyone to view what's going on on the table?

dry_gin - June 24, 2007 04:14 PM (GMT)
It's a 300 Seater Theatrette. And yes, there will be a live video feed that will project whatever is done on / at the table to the screen behind the performer.

We will try to post the pictures of the stage asap!

Cheers

To avoid clutter and confusion, we have added a few sections for any queries you might have. Do post in the appropriate topics! :)

This is for queries regarding the VENUE only.

Just a few questions:

How big is the table? Will there be a skirting for the table?

Also, is it safe to assume that the angle from which the audience can view the performance is relatively tight?

Thanks.

How far will the stage be from the audience?

Aloy - June 27, 2007 03:40 AM (GMT)
I'm sorry, at this point, a site recce is not being arranged. Please DO NOT go down to the CC and say that you want to take part in the competition and expect them to open the doors to the theatrette for you.

On the questions about the table dimensions, audience distances, angle estimation, etc, where possible, Adrian will give you the specifics later.
However, if you have any extraordinary requirements for your act, e.g. need a specific colour table cloth, need specific chair type, etc, i suggest to do try to source for these things yourself first. We will try to facilitate your act to the best of our abilities but we will not be able to accomodate everything.

Can I use my own table?

How far exactly are the judges?

Magicdow - July 23, 2007 12:56 AM (GMT)
You can use your own table. As stated in the other thread, there'll be a broadcast quality camera projecting on the screen. So the distance between the participant and the judges is not a big issue, but of cause, the judges will have the best seat in the house.

AhLiShuFi - July 23, 2007 01:31 PM (GMT)
I see now. I thought the judge would have a more intimate experience. Thought they would be about 2-3metres away. But since they are sitting together with the rest of the audience, then i have no worries.

Shade - July 23, 2007 11:10 PM (GMT)
I think you're mistaken - the best seats in the house for a CLOSEUP/PARLOUR show. They WILL be 2 - 3 metres away from you.

AhLiShuFi - July 24, 2007 03:46 PM (GMT)
haha.... ok. Then that means i am correct from the beginning. It's hard to imagine how this theatrette will be like....

Finally the photos of the venue are up! Check it out. Pretty neat!

GordonLi - July 25, 2007 01:06 PM (GMT)
The venue looks great! Seems really comfy...

Ning - July 25, 2007 01:36 PM (GMT)
Yes, it's really grand :) A real proper auditorium and all that, as you can already tell *grin* There are proper plush seats and a grand stage, so you can image how wonderful it is to perform there ;) Those who've already sent us the forms but have yet to make payment, what are you waiting for?

And those who've yet to sign up, don't miss this chance of the lifetime!!!!!!
