I think it depends on what routine you are doing.
EG:
For ACr, some end with card in mouth, some end with card to pocket and some end with the bent card.

yeah, it really depends on what u start with , and sometimes i prefer doing routines that flow with one another

End with ACR? A good alternative to that is the Velvet Turnover to confound those who know the secret of ACR. In velvet turnover, it looks like ACR, but the spectator can turn over the card in your card at first, before you turn it face down again and insert into the middle of the deck. The spectator can then turn the top card over again to reveal his card is still on the top. Takes more practise then a DL though, but effect is nicer. It can be done repeatedly unlike ACR. It can be found in Derren Brown's Pure Effect book and in his Devil's picturebook DVD. A good sleight to learn since many non-magicians are exposed to ACR.
Been watching a lot of Derren Brown's tricks on his Picture Book DVD lately. All Card tricks. Highly recommend it. Almost all his card tricks there make good closing acts. His Oil and Water is stunning. Also check out his "Out of this world" mentalism card effect, which is really astonishing and easy to do. Impromptu borrowed deck too.

agreed. derren's card stuff are clearly thought of and mostly impromptu. but the bad point of his stuff is it includes moves which are highly difficult or not suitable in singapore. in Singapore la**ing is a highly risky move.
nevertheless, picture book is a very nice video with impromptu card routines.

Shashi,
His DVD is really good. You will probably have to get "The devil's picture book" directly off Derren Brown's site. Some of his tricks are very simple and do not need much sleights (some do though). I just performed his "Out of the world" effect today in public for the first time after just 2 days of practice and the reactions were so satisfying. "No Way! How is that possible?" "What the? *silence* How?"... two hours later... " How did you do it? it is not possible."
Have not been so satisfied performing. It made my triumph closing act seem juvenile or even insignificant. I think next time, I will just do triumph first and then "Out of this world" as the closing act.

shashi i suggest you should not try out with this first, because according to reviews it says you need to have some intermediate knowledge of cards

I suggest you should pick up Born to perform by Oz Pearlman. This is for beginner and it teaches a strong foundation of card magic. If you don't believe you can check this at penguin magic. It has almost 300plus good reviews. :)
