The Happy Angels is a privately-funded, self-initiated group of volunteers who got together in August 2002 with an intention to reach out to the less fortunate people in our community.
The size of membership has grown over the years to the current 40 volunteers comprising of flight attendants, pilots, aircraft engineers and people from all walks of life.
More information at
http://thehappyangels.blogspot.com/On the 3rd of August, 2007, The Happy Angels will be visiting Renci Hospital (2 - 4 pm) and Asian Women's Welfare Association (5 - 7 pm) for food distribution and general visitation.
They are hoping that they can get a few magicians from SMC to join them in their visits to entertain the beneficiaries.
Date: 3 Aug
Time: 2 - 4pm or 5 - 7pm
Target Audience: Old folks and the disabled
Type: Walk around/Bed to BedI personally thought they are quite remarkable.
I understand they started as an informal group of SIA flight attendants wanting to do good and went on from there.
They have no formal backing whatsoever from any organisation, but have even managed to have a collaboration with a charitable group in Indonesia for an overseas project.
And the volunteers took personal leave and pay out of their own pockets for all expenses incurred. Nice. B)
So if anyone is available for these dates, do help them out in this.
Since this is not a very big event, 2 magicians for each slot should be sufficient.
So if you would like to volunteer for this one, please put your name down in this thread.
CIP points possible from Renci and AWWA respectively if you need them.
