Hi, Everyone.

Red Cross has some upcoming events that they need some volunteer sculptors to help out. I'm aware that these events are asking for balloon sculptors only, but i also do know that we have several sculptors in SMC. Personally, I feel this is a really for a good cause so do volunteer if you areable to do it. I'll be doing it myself probably if i have nothing on.

Details as follows:

1) Youth Favorites - 4 & 5 August 2007

Youth Favorites is a 2 day roadshow cum public blood donation drive which the Youth Donor Club (YDC) is organising. It will be at Jurong East Sports Hall from 11am to 5pm.

YDC is a youth chapter of Singapore Red Cross and this is their first public blood drive. The theme of the event is "Music" and in addition to the blood drive, there will be other programme highlights such as a bazaar and music performances. We would also like to have 5 to 6 balloon sculptors during the event to perform balloon sculpting to the public at the sports hall.

2) Birthday Programme for Blood Donors - 11 August 2007

Since August is the month of the Nation's Birthday, we are also organising a birthday programme for our donors who are born in the month of August. The event will be from 12pm to 2pm at Bloodbank@HSA. One of the highlight of the programme is a "Cook out" session where we have vendors promoting food that are of high iron content for donors. We would like to have 3 to 4 balloon sculptors during the event to perform balloon sculpting for the donors and their families.

*Balloons will be provided for all events.

If you feel that you want a certificate/achieve CIP points through this, post and let me know, I'll try and work it out with the Person-in-charge.

Please post by 02/08/07 if you wish to volunteer (name + event + time). Post if you have enquiries too.

PS. If you feel that you don't want to volunteer, but you do feel like donating your blood, come on down to Jurong East Sports Hall on 4th and 5th Aug. In fact, we can make it an SMC type event if you like. :lol:

She's specifically requesting for balloon sculptors & people to donate blood at the event. If you think you're qualified, you can contact Red Cross directly in your own capacity.

Anyone up to do balloon sculptoring for the event on the coming Saturday and Sunday?? I only got one volunteer and i can't do it...

If not, again, you can walk in to donate blood. I'm sure quite some of us here CAN donate blood, if you can, do go down and you may be able to save someone with your blood!!
