Hey guys.
I was wondering what the big deal was with sharpies. I've tried them to label stuff when I was in the army and i realized that the ink will fade easily. Furthermore they arent so cheap? I got mine from the US and from the NJC bookshop. The best marker I've used so far is a golden paint marker which is good cos it can write on both sides of any card with good contrast. What markers do you use?

I used to use paint markers, but they can get a little wet, smudged and hard to dry. Plus, they are a little weird - at least for me, I see them as the kind of markers school girls would use.
I now use a blue or black zebra marker, and it is a common marker.
Will I use sharpies in future? I think yes - the good thing about sharpies is that they look good to me and have a nice clip (and hence can be placed neatly in your jacket).

The reason why Sharpies are popular is because it drys fast! Why it didn't stay on your army stuff is because of friction. any markers ink when applied with friction would wear off. try it. on pilot, zebra, all the same.
Plus, Sharpies are a little fat, so holding it is a bit more comfortable. also, at $2, I don't think it is that expensive. Grab any pilot pen from a book shop, and it is already priced around $2.

To all people who love to own a sharpie but cannot afford to fly to USA just to get one, i have good news for you.
i found a place in singapore that sells sharpie, but it isn't a magic shop. It isn't popular, and it isn't any ordinary stationery shop. For some it might be inconvinient to go there, some might hate to go there. But nevertheless, they are selling sharpies at $1.25 each.
The place is MUSTAFA.

yup, i bought a set of sharpies mini for 3+ for 3 as well. It comes in a set of red blue n black. You can't choose the colours, this is the only combination. But i couldn't find them at popular. I bought mine at IMM Giant Supermarket.
The thing about mini sharpie is that the tip is too fine. So if you ask them to sign on a card, it looks quite ridiculous because the letters are so thin, especially when you ask the spectator to sign it big. But this is up to your personal preference i guess.
