The finals of Legerdemain is almost on top of us. This thread is opened to address any queries you might have about the finals and keep contestants updated on any developments. Do check back here every now and then for updates. To avoid messy threading, ONLY THIS POST will be edited as updates come along.

Important Reminders:-

1) Get your tickets early to avoid disappointment. You will want supporters!

2) Contestants are given 8 minutes to complete their act. If you exceed your time limit you will be penalised or disqualified at the discretion of the judges.

3) Contestants are REQUIRED to include their audition act in their final act.

4) As this event is open to the public and is it is likely that there will be families and children present, you are strongly advised to ensure the material you present (especially your patter) is appropriate - sexual innuendos should be used with extreme caution and tact.

5) STRICTLY NO FIRE. NO CONFETTI.

Failure to comply with the rules will result in disqualification.

Contestants' Full Rehearsal - 16 September 07
All contestants have been sent their rehearsal times through email. Please remember to turn up at your alloted time slot. If you have any problems turning up at the given time slot please inform Jerome as soon as possible. We will try to arrange for an alternative time slot for you but no guarantees are made as we have to accomodate 10 acts on that day - it will be difficult.

Please make sure you prepare the following for us:

1) Logistics information - you will need to provide any of your own music as an MP3 file on a flash drive if possible. Alternatively a data CD with the MP3 file is fine. Do provide us with the cues with which we'll need in order to play the piece for you. It'll help if you give us both visual AND time cues.

2) Inform us of any weak angles you would like the camera man to avoid during your act or if you have any special requests for camera angles.

3) You will be provided with a table and close up pad - similar to the one you got during the auditions. Do make any necessary arrangements for additional or special equipment you might need for the Finals.

4) Submit your FULL NAME AND your NRIC to us on Sunday if you haven't already done so - unless you want vital information to be left out from your Certificate!

Come on time. Late comers will not be allotted extra time. If you show up after your time slot, you will not be allowed to use the stage at all.

Contestants' Full Rehearsal - 16 September 07
We have prepared a special date for contestants to come into the Theatrette at Ulu Pandan CC for a full rehearsal of their act. You are to bring whatever you need - we will provide a standard table and Close up pad.

Each contestant will be scheduled to come in at a certain time - this is to prevent contestants from viewing each other's acts before the Finals. On site will be our professional videographer (pending confirmation - he will try to make it if his schedule permits it). It would be good if you talk to him about your camera needs and angles as well - he's also an IBM member and a magician, so you don't have to worry about exposure of any sort.

This will also be a good trial run for you so you can get a 'feel' for the place. Operating costs are VERY high for the theatrette and Ulu Pandan has very generously allowed us to use it for the day. Finalists will be notified by SMS and email of their arranged time slot. There is no 'make-up' day if you are unable to make your time slot. We will try to accomodate changes if you inform us early, but we make no promises or guarantees. You will not be allowed to do your trial if you arrive outside of your allocated time slot.

Hey Shade, just want a written conformation, that time you told me STREAMERS is allowed to use right? provided i clear up myself, cause Confetti is very small pieces of paper.

As long as you don't leave a mess on the stage and clean up after yourself, streamers are ok.

One of the commitments we made to Ulu Pandan CC under the terms in which we could use the Auditorium was that we did not dirty it in any way and that we would not use fire.

i just want to ask where can i get the tickets to the competition show?
how much is the ticket, and it's still available or fully book?

Almost half the tickets are already snapped up. We'll be posting a thread on ticket sales soon - don't worry.

How will our audience members be selected.

As in on the real day itself, we pick a REAL audience from the crowd or the audience member is preseted(as in we have to use the one you guys choose for us).

To prevent stooging, volunteers will be selected from the pool of public laymen audiences that come from Ulu Pandan side. We will make the arrangements for you to have the number of volunteers you need. Let us know on the 16 September what your needs are.
