Title: Colour It! Deadline: 15 Sept 07
Description: A Mini Pre-Competition Competition!

Shade - August 28, 2007 05:10 AM (GMT)
Colour Change Competition
Closing date: 15 September 07

In conjunction with the Legerdemain competition, we are conducting a special contest! This is a great way to showcase your favourite colour changes!

You can use your handphone or dvcam to record your colour change and upload it to youtube/myspace/multiply etc... Just put a link to it here. You don't even have to show your face if you're camera shy!

You may post up to 3 entries, showcasing 3 of your best colour changes!

Just simply video yourself performing a colour change - any colour change - and post it here! We'll conduct a poll of which video clip is the BEST and the winner stands a chance to win a pair tickets to the LEGERDEMAIN finals!

Contestants in the Legerdemain contest are not eligible for this! LOL... I know it's not fair, but you guys better spend more time preparing your act for the finals!

NOTE: Aloy cannot enter with his Bertram change.

Ok, question is:

One change means one type of change throughout the video? Or only can do one change throughout the video?

Can I use gimmicks?

Aloy - August 28, 2007 09:36 AM (GMT)
Number and type of change you wanna do is up to you. You can do a whole sequence of changes at one go or multiple shots of different changes.

You can use whatever gimmick you want.
BUT:

1) No confederate/helper. E.g. Getting someone off camera to facilitate the change for you.

2) No "camera tricks". It doesn't matter if it's angle sensitive, since this is a video competition. But it must not be achieved by clever editing.
We might ask you to perform it once live (for ONE spectator so that angles is not a problem) if we think it's a "camera trick" or you using someone off camera to help you before you claim your prize. B)

LarryDK - August 28, 2007 11:23 AM (GMT)
Camera trick, well that resolve the problem. Time to practise your changes people..

LarryDK - September 4, 2007 03:57 PM (GMT)
Hmm, I will say its similar to the tenkai color change.

But the concept and construction might be different. I won't know because I not here to break down your color into parts. Because you ask for similar, I will say the tenkai change is the closest to it.

Ace - September 4, 2007 08:36 PM (GMT)
Hmmm I think tenkai is one of the closest too....although I did not use the tenkai p*** in the change lol

Aloy - September 5, 2007 07:09 AM (GMT)
QUOTE (LarryDK @ Sep 4 2007, 11:57 PM)
Hmm, I will say its similar to the tenkai color change.

Do you actually mean the Bertram Change?

Anyways, the "hold out" has been around and documented by one of the old school big names, Marlo or Elmsely or Vernon or someone like that. You'd have to ask around if you wanna know. Uncle Bob or Shade might know.
Whether that "hold out" was used in a colour change, I'm not sure.

<Aaron> - September 5, 2007 04:48 PM (GMT)

Hey guys, now's the school holidays so i managed to film 3 colour changes!! hahahahaha  i realised it really is quite difficult to film yourself doing stuff, especially with no one to help. In fact it's more difficult to perform on camera cos you need to watch your hands and the screen at the same time so you don't go off screen. ;)

ENTRY 04
1) I came up with this one a while back. I haven't thought of a name for it though. This is the main colour change i'm submitting. Apologies if it is rather blurry.
#1 Colour change

ENTRY 05
2) This one is more of a card-changing routine as compared to a colour change, with a production in the end. But i think it still can pass off as a series of colour changes though. heehee :g: The routine is mine, but the ace production isn't.
#2 colour change

ENTRY 06
3) I filmed this cos i was kind of bored. It's the ego change and one handed shapeshifter. :D
#3 colour change

Please feel free to comment!! :)

Mod's Note: Edited to include entry numbers
