Ace - September 2, 2007 06:55 AM (GMT)
Finally after 133 pages and 4000plus replies on the Magic Cafe, they finally reveal what Theory 11 is all about.
Yes, it is another online magic shop.
www.theory11.com
"theory11 : Underground Magic Epicenter – Learn High End Magic Tricks & Card Flourishing"
Underground? After tons of hype how can this thing be "underground"?!
This looks like a hype up version of the Ellusionst lol. B)
bigbadwolf - September 2, 2007 08:30 AM (GMT)
Panic and Digital Dissolve looks good. :!!:
rolandlim - September 3, 2007 12:57 AM (GMT)
Distortion is such a cope out !!
it's basically moving points by seo magic....
mattlee - September 3, 2007 01:20 AM (GMT)
They disguised moving pips as 'Distortion'.
I don't know if I'm getting the wrong message but that's quite disgusting.
Unless the method is totally different. Which I doubt.
Broderick - September 3, 2007 01:32 AM (GMT)
They just release a new deck.check it out ...
ask your local dealer today!=))
the deck look really great=))

There's a local dealer for T11? Who is he?
kuang89 - September 3, 2007 07:06 AM (GMT)
The new decks are crazy, i love the back design and the ace of spades it looks abit like ragnarok theme(if you've played the game).
I hope it also have the black cards with this card back.
Amazing design but the feel I'm not sure, me thinks it costs as much as Masters or Split Spades.
Aloy - September 3, 2007 07:09 AM (GMT)
Yay! Another Ellusionist! With more fancy designed cards! B)
But they do seem to have more creators and have put in a lot of effort into their site.
For Distortion, it is not quite the same gimmick that's being sold by SEO magic. It is actually the exact gimmick used by Cyril, which I'm not sure whether it's being sold anywhere.
It's a 4 pips to 6 pip with an extra detail in the mismatched i***x which i think is quite an important. And the effect is different from Cyril's (or SEO Magic's) in that this is a card transpo effect, theirs is a wrong-card-turned-right effect.
Is this "original" enough to be considered "original"? I dunno man. After a while, i get pretty confused about these stuff.
Go join the thousand and one online public debates about this issue if you wanna...
But I think they didn't claim it to be an original item either, but that it's a "collaboration of ideas", whatever that means. :D
Digital dissolve seems like an interesting gimmick. Besides the fact that I have a personal effect that more or less does the same thing that costs nothing. :P
I'm not sure if this type of gimmick are already available previously. Gotta ask Bernard.
I would have actually preferred the gimmick to be "the other way" thou, if given a choice. Would have opened up more possibilities for the use of it.
So does this mean Wayne Houchin has "broken up" with Ellusionist?
christo - September 3, 2007 11:31 AM (GMT)
Wayne houchin will hav nothing to do with E after the release of his last trick, distortion...
He claimed, in t11 forum...
They are smart to use this kind of marketing method... haha.
Wonder will Daniel garcia and the rest stay in E for long...better grab some ghost n tigers before they become limited edition(stop printing)...lol... i hope that will not happen la..hah
Ace - September 3, 2007 11:33 AM (GMT)
Here is one of the rumors on the magic cafe.

| I think part of the reason to why Houchin left E is because he said to them he was working with Paul Harris on a project... But E thinks he was not, so arguments started and know he left them. |
Seems like Wayne Houchin has "broken up" with the Ellusionist. Ultragaff will be his last project with E.
For distortion, I already have 2 moving pips, so I don't think I'll be purchasing it.
Here's Wayne with the history of Distortion

Hey guys. I appreciate the discussion & search for truth & honesty. The history of the moving pip card is thoroughly explained on the DVD:
The Moving Pip card (the gimmick that makes this possible) has been around since at least the 1970's. It looks like it may have origniated from Japan. It was first done as a stage gag using a jumbo card. In 1980, Michael Ammar was the first (as far as we can tell) to have the moving pip card made with a NORMAL poker sized playing card. In 1981 he published his routine using the card "Visually Yours." Michael graciously contributed his routine to the Distortion project & it is taught & performed as a bonus - on the DVD.
So what is Distortion? "Distortion" is MY routine using the Moving Pip gimmick, just like "Visually Yours" is Michael Ammar's routine using the Moving Pip gimmick. I have worked out a transposition effect that creates quite an impact.
So, to sum it all up: The Moving Pip gimmick that you recieve with the DVD has been around for a long time. Michael Ammar was the first to have it made with a normal sized poker card. Michael's fantastic routine "Visually Yours" is taught on the DVD with HIS permission & blessing. "Distortion" is MY routine using the same gimmick.
I hope that clears some things up. Feel free to copy and paste this response, or link to it, if you see others asking the same questions. Thanks!
Also, just to be clear, I had nothing to do with Cyril's presentation & performance of the Moving Pip card. I helped to answer a few questions regarding Cyril's version of Sinful (which is a fantastic presentation if you haven't yet seen it). Cyril is an incredible performer & CREATOR in his own right & I want to make sure that none of his work is misattributed to myself.
So there you have it. I hope I answered your questions

Dang! A great site like this should remain underground man!
Nevertheless, this new site is actually quite cool despite all the hype and chaos it has caused in all the forums.
llamalamer - September 5, 2007 04:55 AM (GMT)
Underground?
Sigh, anything on the internet is no longer underground...
ming - September 5, 2007 11:34 AM (GMT)
If it was underground, you wouldn't know about it.
fabregas - September 17, 2007 04:28 AM (GMT)
The Dvd for Distortion is out? Does anyone have it? There only a limited of 300 copies released if not wrong.
Jlowhy - September 17, 2007 06:50 AM (GMT)
I believe for Distortion, the limited copies really mean: 300 limited pre-release copies. Once it's sold out, then you have to wait until Distortion is released to get it which is October 1st. Not too far from now.
fabregas - September 24, 2007 02:51 PM (GMT)
So are there anyone supplying the products from theory11 in Singapore? Panic, Digital Dissolve and Distortion have good reviews from other website.
hihs - September 24, 2007 02:59 PM (GMT)
you could check out T11's forum for reviews. Just under the "Product Review" section.
fabregas - September 25, 2007 04:02 PM (GMT)
I know that most of their product have positive reviews. Just wondering is there anyone supplying theory11 products in Singapore yet.
Icy - September 28, 2007 09:58 AM (GMT)
Ellusionist + a handful of professionals.
In other words, IF you think Ellusionist is good. Theory 11 can only be better, theoretically. And as Harapan said, if you want it better you should help out, too.
xisamix - September 14, 2008 03:11 AM (GMT)
Theory 11 is much like E, just with a new style and better customer service=)
hikaru - November 16, 2008 01:16 AM (GMT)
