Title: Suggestion Speaking
Description: Derren Brown

Hey guys,
Recently, (actually from start) I very impressed on Derren Brown's way of talking, in term, his magic is based on magic, suggestion, misdirection and showmanship.
So here I am, I want to ask is, what book teaches or highlight the issue about suggestive talking, in short when you speak, you actually select words and suggest to the audience and in term collect them to think what you thinking.
Also is the psychological reading, either cold reading or whatever, what book is good to start from.
Thanks for any help..

I would say that most of the works by kenton on suggestions are excellent. (If scripting and the use of suggestions is what you are looking for)
Especially his wonder words series. I find it indispensable for any magician... especially those dealing with psychological forces or mentalism.
As far as Derren Brown goes, he is very natural, though I don't think I am comfortable with his style of presentation( though he is good). Just not me. And he speaks a little too fast for the average Singaporean. (Just my personal opinion).

Yes Pam,
Not trying to be like Derren Brown. His style will not work in Singapore. Just want an idea of where to start from and then build from there.
Thanks.

read luke jermay, banachek, derren brown( pure effect) and other non magic authors on NLP. The best in the field i know of is Anthony Robbins. The book is awakening the giant within. Read it carefully and u'd lern alot

Hey.
Before you start learning suggestion and stuff you might want to see what kind of audience reaction it gets.To see if the whole suggestion thing is your type you can use a simple trick and give it a suggestion presentation eg instead of doing a colour change to reveal a card, you ask them to think of it , pretend to try and guess from the way they move their eyes etc. If you can make it look a little tough/complicated, they sometimes really think its a psychological thing,
