Expired - September 8, 2007 08:28 AM (GMT)
Hi can anyone recommend a DVD or VCD in card tricks from begginer to advanced or somthing like that. The reason I chose DVD or VCD is that whenever i read a book of card tricks i couldn't understand what they are saying and their illustration is not heplful at all .

crash course 1 is an introduction to card magic, inclusive of basic sleights and their applications.
crash course 2 however is dedicated to teaching ACR which is definitely one of the most frequently used by card magicians i think. ^_^ in CC2 there are sleights and moves that can be used to perform the routine.
both these series are good because personally i find brad christian a very good teacher ( despite the credits part ) so learning from it is actually quite easy.
however if you are tighter of budget, i will definitely introduce penguin's Oz Pearlman born to perform as suggested above because it is a compressed versions of the crash course volumes but the teaching might be less elaborate but still good :)
hope i helped,
Ian

Hey, Expired.
There's a newly released DVD called 'Card Trick Magic by Stephane Vanel' which is aimed at the beginner card magicain. It teaches a multitude of effects which are quite easily manage by beginners and gives quite a good mix of stuff, you might want to check it out.

I still think Michael Ammar's DVDs won't go wrong. Alot of dvds out there, you watch, and you find that you won't really be performing those stuffs. But if you get Michael Ammar's set of DVDs, there's so much good stuff in there, you end up not knowing which to start practicing first! I've bought over hundreds of DVDs now. But most of the routines I do today, I can safely say is from Ammar's DVDs.
