Title: Series On Geek Magic?
Description: Room 401

There's a new series by Ashton Kutcher called Room 401...it's on MTV in Australia but I'm not sure wheter or not it's on in Singapore. Anyway, the whole series is just like a magic version of Punk'd. They run around putting random people in scary places to do what seems like ordinary jobs. Then the actors that are meant to scare these people, who pretend to be their coworkers, do something crazy and scare the people. Like...fly?
Most of the things they do is acheived by magic and the presentation of the actors is really really good, totally worth catching the next time it comes on in Singapore. You can watch clips on it on youtube as well. It's a little ratty though, but it's worth it =D!

Sounds like the T.HE.M.
Its like the candid camera approach to magic. Wonder if that is good or bad.

Did you guys know we had something like this locally in SG? Years back GOTCHA enlisted the help of a group of magicians to come up with magic-based pranks of sorts for TV! ;) *grin*

There was a series like that in SG??? How long ago was this? The only series of GOTCHA that i saw before was the non-magic related ones...
I only knew that there were series like these in China... quite fun! 'Cos the magician got chased away by the stall owner with a broom when he attempted to use 'money-transformed-from-blank-paper' to pay for something.
On the topic of this, did you know that the Taiwan Variety Show Variety Big Brother has a on-going competition of sorts (like Iron chef) where magicians come in and attempt to compete against a past reigning magician on the show. I think Lu-chen is one of the judges... Saw the level of magic, and it was really quite good, some of them!
ade.

Yeah... I caught the Gotcha segment on Mobile TV.
It featured Nique Tan and JC Sum (the only 2 person I recognized). They were trying to teach people to use some "metal softening" solution (if I didn't remember wrongly). All the PK stuff lah...
Oh? Da Ge Da has a magic competition? Ok, that's a good reason for me to tune in to that boring show. Is it still on?

The Gotcha segment was on TVMobile? That means it shouldn't have been too long ago, how come i didn't see it at all. :(
Anyways axl, yes, i think the segment is still running on da ge da. Unfortunately if you are thinking of catching it on Ch8 (or is it U??) that's not the one. That one is like i dunno backdated to how long ago and is heavily editted. You might still catch it if you have cable TV though. I know short clips of it are available on Youtube. :)

Haha yeah I used to watch Gotcha! Is was that show with the spoon bending and the guy that pretended to drop his contact lens and stuff yeah? I don't think Room 401 is supposed to make people laugh though =s. It has a mind of Mindfreak feel to it. I think it's more geared towards making the people at home scared? Haha i don't know...still cool though :P
