Hi Everyone,
Thanks to my great friends, Shade, Gordon, Axl, Adrian and ZiAn. I was given a great birthday surprise. Thanks you guys, you're the best. Sorry to only write a review now but better late than never... :P Ok here goes my review broken up in a few sections.
The Goods:
- A 27 min Dvd
- The Gimmick stored in a aluminium tin and sealed in a ziplock static bag.
Review on Dvd: Dvd is very much E's style of packaging and printing. The Dvd is shot very well in high definition I suppose. Sound and picture quality is excellent. The Dvd starts off with Dan White perfoming to a group of people on the streets of Vegas. The reactions he got were amazingly strong. After the performance, the camera shifted back to the studio were Dan White explains the Move, a Basic Routine with the Move and ending off a teaching of a variation where the transposition is done in the performer's hand. The Dvd then ends off with Dan White's personal thoughts on the effect.
There are 2 extra footages in the Dvd. 1 is available at the menu which shows how Theory11 decided on the name Digital Dissolve. The 2nd hidden footage is an Easter Egg. You'll need to load the Dvd on the computer to access it. This footage is however very good as it shows BJ Bueno teaching the effect and he also shows a slick move for the transposition. I shall keep that in suspense.. ^_^
Review on Gimmick: What can I say when the gimmick is from Jamie Schoolcraft. Jamie makes some of the best coins in the industry. I have no comparison as I've not handled the gimmick from other makers but I have to say that they are of excellent quality. Take good care of them and it'll last you a life time. They even provide you with the aluminium tin container for proper storage so just store them inside and it'll be safe.
My Personal Thoughts :
For 35USD, this is really worth the money as the gimmick itself at Jamie's site is more than 60USD so buying from Theroy11 is much more worth it. I personally feel that this is a very fantastic effect and gimmick because you can show both sides of the coins before and after the effect. With a little more work, you can let both coins be examined before and after the effect. There are no clothing restriction, well unless you intend to ditch the gimmick. Otherwise, you can do this in any clothing. This effect is so simple and direct which can be a stand alone or routined into a Spellbound effect. No complains about the effect but I feel creators should give credit to Steve Duscheck as before BJ Bueno created it, Steve had the same effect and using the same gimmick as well.
All in all a fantastic effect which is a worker... Feel free to post if you have any questions. I'll try to answer if possible. Lastly Thanks again to Shade, Gordon, Axl, Adrian and ZiAn. You guys are the greatest... ^_^
Cheers
Jerome
wow it sounds good already.. might purchase it soon!! hmm btw do you know the shipping prices for theory 11??
The basic idea (and even handling) is by Steve Duschek. This man has been the most copied inventor in magic.
It will be great if this is available in SGD coins ^_^
