Title: The Coin In Glass

Logan - October 7, 2007 02:42 PM (GMT)
Hey guys,

It's been a while, but I have been super busy. My semester in Brunei University is killing me!

Anyway, managed to squeeze a video out.

Hope you enjoy it!

It's one of my favourite routines. I don't normally do coin tricks, but this is an exception :)

Anyway, let me know what you think of it!

You all stay safe!

Take care,

Well done Well done.

I like the concept of the effect itself. The first set of the effect I already can predict what you going to do, though its an open joke, but i think it will still kick a knack out of anyone.

Good Pacing of effect, first from open mouth, to covered mouth. But i guess it will be better if all 3 items can be impromtu, which i guess the chances is very highly possible.

And the last set of the effect, where the magic happens on the spec's hand, is the best ending for this effect.

Once again, good job for this effect.

P.S And well through concept for the coin through deck. :) I Love it.

Larry,

My man, thanks for your comment!

I'm glad you enjoyed the video! It always gets a good reaction, hopefully due to the pacing which you highlighted.

During my shows, believe it or not, the most applause comes from the first gag! People are normally too stunned during the last phase to applaud, which is nice too :g:

Thanks again brother.

Stay safe,

Logan

Great effect. I dunno how u managed to time it the way you did for the last phrase. :D

I'm wondering, since the 2nd phase and the last phase uses the same erm..."approach", would it be better to just go straight into the last phase and skip the middle one?
Maybe I'm coming from the magicians's POV but I'm wondering if the 2nd phrase pre-empts the audience abt where to look out for in the last phrase.

Nevertheless, great routine. B)

Hey Aloy!

Thanks for chiming in and your kindest words!

Regarding the phases. Your points are indeed valid, however, due to the structure of the routine, i.e. my false explanation of the effect in the 2nd phase, the last phase has a greater impact. Well, that's my logic anyway and my cousin recently resonated the same thought after watching it, so I guess that has translated quite well from the video.

Forethought like yours has never hurt though! In fact, even some sharp spectators have the ability to 'think' like us magicians!

Scary!

Thanks again for your time my friend!

Stay safe,

Logan

Hey Aman, good to see you here on SMC. This is Asad's friend by the way. Ive spoken to you before through Youtube, if i remembered correctly.

I see that you've finished your NS and is back in Brunei. Good stuff.

Anyway great video. But well, good stuff like this should not be seen on video, it should be seen live.

Magicdow,

Thank you for your kind words! I do like to add a little comedy to everything. Especially if it's ridiculous, adds contrast as the steps build.

Zian,

Hey brother how are things! Yes, I'm back in Brunei and things are fine with me, thankfully. Just wish my semester was less hectic.

Your comment about how this would be better live, really applies to almost all forms of magic my friend. Magic is an art made for live interaction, in many ways, video kills magic. Think about it.

There are some tricks of mine I refuse to put on video, but this routine along with some others are pretty safe (hopefully!).

Thanks for chiming in my friend! It's good to hear from you again!

If you hear from Asad, please send my regards to him!

Take care guys,

Aman a.k.a. Logan
