Title: Where To Take Magic Class?
Description: where to take magic class?

Liquid Force - October 11, 2007 01:30 AM (GMT)
Hi there,

I just joined this forum abt 5 mins ago. Zero experience in magic.
I want to learn some simple magic tricks and hopefully will b able to do simple performance to entertain childrens and old folks.

I do a bit of volunteer works regularly and i kinda figured out that i might be able to bring smile n fun to those people i met there through some magic tricks..

So, I m just wondering if some nice souls here will give me some advice on Where can I take 'magic class' for Beginner?

Your advice/help are much appreciated...

Cheers

Kevin

Hi & welcome! ^_^

Firstly, I don't really agree with magic classes because I don't like the thought of teaching to just anyone who decides to learn magic because he/she saw Cyril *coughs* on YouTube doing that cool moving pips thingie.

Why?

1. The effect taught may be someone else's effect and it may be available on sale somewhere but they are being taught off for a hm.. maybe small fee but the creator gains nothing.

2. I'm just being an... a.. "black"-hole.
I don't want to see too many people performing the same tricks I'm doing T_T
Face it, we all have that feeling.

OK, back on topic, check out E's Kard Klub and Ninja series, I started off with those :D

Whatever you do, don't pay $25 just to learn a trick.

The only "magic class" I came across was by Lawrence Khong (Magic of Love), the magician pastor. Not too sure if it's still around.

Anyway... DvDs are good sources. Search the forums for recommendations.

Books can be a bit "chim" for some of us (like me), but if your English is good then by all means.
