yo magicb

you can find good close-up mats at magic supreme.

$15 a piece, good quality, but only 1 layer and no rubber on the underside. these are the big ones.

or

$18 a piece, very good quality, available in different colours, and rubber on the underside. however, these pads are small. for table-hoppers.

both are great investments by the way.

i heard got one S$40 one sold in Magic Castle.. heard that one the best one...

anyone has it? wat ya think?

about the cheaper ones... wat so "ungood" abt it?

im thinking of getting one.. but dunno which one..

anyone have the S$40 one and wanna sell to me second hand?

can get any for less than S$10?

Actually, if you were to go to spolight, you can find a doormat which can also be used as a close up mat.

The cheaper close up mat will peel over time. The colors will fade. Get a better one if you can.

Some mouse pads can be used as close up mats too.

This is the best I've seen. I seldom use close up mat.

I got the close-up mat from Magic Supreme a while back for $12 instead of $15, I guess they jacked up the price recently.

Been looking at those little black bookbags in bookstores and all... the kind that you can put in sheets of paper and all. If you've seen it before, you'll know what I mean ;)

one of my magician friend performed with a mouse pad, i thought it was a table-hopping closeup pad, and was presently surprised to hear it that it was a mouse pad

honestly. try those cloth shop.. they do sell floor mats.. of those grip things they put in cars.. saw them selling $1.90 for a long roll. They all can work.. and dont have to be afraid of it getting dirty.

I believe the material that u all are talking about in it's various disgusies is "Neoprene"... and no, they aren't those things which come out of the machine when u stick some coins in and pull a few monkey faces.

Brendan - January 5, 2005 08:49 AM (GMT)

Word of advice: Don't smoke while practicing on a close-up mat...the reason's obvious :(

Hell, don't even START smoking to begin with.

I believe most of you has seen it before. If you've seen thick and heavy mouse pads, they are made of neoprene.
