Hi this is Tom here. On Dec8, I’m helping CDAC with an event at *Scape Park (just beside the coffeeshop where SMC members used, very long ago, to meet up. Talk about old times :P )

The event is basically to let people, especially Youths (don’t worry those young at heart are eligible as well ;) )to know about the B3 Programme by CDAC. The objectives of the event is to:
1. raise the awareness and profile of B3 Programme as well as to recruit more youth volunteers.
2. provide a platform for youth volunteers to get together as well as a chance to organize big scale events.

I’m currently a Volunteer Mentor (ya I’m the youngest among the other volunteer mentors :P) in the B3 Programme and I’ll be overseeing the stage performance section on that day.

Therefore I’d like to ask if anyone here is interested to try performing to the public, especially youths (there will be families as well) on that day? Performance could be strolling magic, stage magic, card flourishing, yo-yos, cup stacking, dice stacking, cheerleading, band, dance, whatever performances you can do, I’m more than welcome for your participation :) or if you have friends interested to do other forms of performances, you can let them know as well :)

The performance period is from 1pm-5.30pm. Besides performing, I’m sure all of you can meet up for session as well after the event?
(I’ll try to see if I can try to get a room in NYC for u all?)

And hopefully for those who are interested to do volunteer work and not sure where to look for, this would be an opportunity as the B3 Programme provides activities of many areas to suit individual as described in the above website given. So do come down to have a look even be it you’re performing, supporting your performing friends or just free on that day :)

Just additional infor, so far JJC, NHSS and somemore schools will be helping out as well. So for those who are from these schools, you can check through there as well?

Hope all of you can lend us your support and in turn gain experiences, be it performing experiences or just interacting with us the fellow volunteers or beneficiaries that’ll be present on that day. :)

Regarding the time slot wise, i'm very flexible with it :)
cuz i'd want u all to have time to walk around the carnival to take a look at the B3 program as well.

As of now i have:

I leave it to u if u wanna do less than 1hr, 1hr or more than that :) because i'm just providing a platform for u all to try performing in public. i'll be performing as well if time permits for me :P

Ok this is the latest update:

Venue: Just beside Cineleisure (u'll see a tentage set there)
Performance time: as stated in the previous post of the time slot u selected.
Guest of Honour: MP for Bishan GRC Ms Josephine
Programs:
- flea market (then right opposite is the Lime magazine flea market :P)
- booths manned by jjc, nhss & st nic gals doing simple balloon sculptures, glitter paintings n face faintings for the children
- stage performances

The help we'll need from u all is just do strolling magic around cineleisure to draw crowds :) we'll pass u flyers to give out as u perform to the crowds.

I'm so sorry that i can only pop by for awhile cuz i have a gig right smack in the middle at 3pm :(
But don't worry, please check ur pm as i've pm u the contact no. and the name of the person in charge to look out for on the day itself.

Will we be given a pass or tag to identify us? I would suggest maybe we can have a tag to identify ourselves. Just in case any of the volunteers thought we are passer-by.

been really busy with work lately..

There's no dress code for that day itself :) You can wear whatever you like cuz like I mentioned before I'm just providing a platform for those who wanna try strolling magic for public :) So no restriction or requirement or whatsoever :)

We'll be providing you all with a tag so the public know you are helping us. But for those who wanna just come on that day itself but afraid you don't have a tag, don't worry just explain nicely to your audience when you perform for them and i'm sure they'll understand. :)

Before 4pm we'll expecting more of youths and after 4pm more of family and children. So all of you can use this as a reference in planning your routines based on your selected time slot.

I'm so sorry that I won't be able to go down on the day itself cuz my boss arranged 2 shows for me on that day itself.. :(

Just hope that you all will have fun on the day itself! :)

Ok guys I can't make it for this one anymore. A friend of mine just passed away and his funeral is on saturday.

Well, guess there will be only the three of us going. Lols. I will most likely be there from 1pm till late.

Ok just a little reminder and to brief you all about tomorrow :)

The event will start at 1pm so you can come anytime starting from there.

Please go to the stage area to find the CDAC staff there. Her name is Duanqin and I suppose all of you has gotten her contact no. through the pm.

She'll pass u a lanyard tag to identify yourself as CDAC performer-helpers for the day. So upon getting that, you can start going around the area or even the fringe areas of the tentage (that'll be around cineleisure :P) basically no restriction on where u wanna stroll to :P

She might be passing some flyers to you all to give out as u all are performing to the public. Its bascially a to let them know about the B3 event that's going on :)

Feel free to stay and watch the performance or help out (if u wanna help out, just ask Duanqin) in the event.

Just reached home. Very tired. The crowd in the early afternoon was not so great. Only around 4pm+ the crowd gathered. Had to say I have picked up quite a few performing tips and made new friends over there. :D
