To be frank, your rate is kinda low even though you provide the balloons.

Everyone is lowering rates nowadays, when will it hit $8 an hour? At this rate, if everyone just except it, there'll be not much incentive in doing this anymore. I hope you can be fair to our members here. Afterall, many of us here put in effort to learn the trade. This includes investing in DVDs and books which is also part of the cost.

You may be able to get people to do this but remember, you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.

hey,

Although I'm not a proper sculptor per say, he does mention "simple design(Animals, hats, flowers.etc)" is 50 bucks still to low?

If you get Stephanie Sun or any singer to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and pay them $50 an hour, is that consider low?

No matter what sculpture you do, the time spent is still one hour. $50 is low no matter what sculpture you do. If this goes thru, everyone who needs a performer will come to SMC as this is the place where you can get cheap performers. We wouldn't want that, would we?

As an event organiser, you should know what the charges are in the market. To be frank there are desperate people who charge what you offered and some even lower.

We can't compare the rates with other industry. You should check how much your talents are charging and then sell it to your clients and not the other way round.

The clients will always want something cheap and good. Just remember, what is cheap may not be good and what is good may not be cheap.

The charges depends how much the market price is and artist's experience. Usually the charges would be like $(market rate + experience), so find out how much is the market rate first and the experience of your talents to determine a good rate to pay them. :D

may i said some pointer here, i felt that $50 per hour to little, that only cover transport allowance, and as for helping entertainment company should be double of what normal fees, half hour $150 to $250, one hour $200 to $450, i guess B)
