Title: Miss Ning Is Hiring... Audition Alert!
Description: Are YOU who i'm looking for? :)

Ning - November 22, 2007 09:01 AM (GMT)
Hey folks ^_^

First off, here's the audition details:

10 & 11 DEC '07, 3 - 8PM*: 627A ALJUNIED RD #09-03 BIZTECH CENTRE S(389842)

I'm looking for talents to groom & work with, for a long term project I'm personally under-taking, which stretches from Jan - Dec 2008. Note: This is not for Magic Boutique but something else that I'm really, really excited about *wink*

Selected magicians who join my new family will be duly paid of course :) People who really know me know that I always treat people well and do not abuse them in any way. What I don't like and I'll just frankly say this now - are calculative, money-minded people who don't really appreciate, respect or love the art. And people with no integrity too, because that really disgusts me.

Anyways. I'm looking for magicians (it really doesn't matter if you're a newbie/ beginner too & obviously, I've got absolutely no gender-bias), who:

- possess the right attitude
(this to me, is by far the most important quality because I don't care if you think you can do the craziest sleights or flourishes but lack this essential chip)

- responsible & reliable
(if you're always late or it's impossible to reach you on your mobile phone, you can stop reading this post now, thank you)

- mature & a team player
(i'm not necessarily talking about age here... to me, age is just a number, i'm talking about mindset maturity & of course, being easy to work with.)

- professional when it comes to work
(again, being savvy and smart enough to know when to play and when to be serious for work... oh yes, spoilt brats who only know how to boss their maids around need not apply)

- are creative & fun-loving when it comes to chill out/ play time ^_^
(yes, this is important too!!)

If you've got other useful skills (e.g. juggling, balloon-twisting, etc.) besides magic, it's a good benefit as well. So, if you think you're qualified (see points above once again) & are interested to work with a professional magic team to learn more, drop me an email** before 3 Dec, with all the following details:

Name:
SMC username:
Age:
Mobile #:
Email:
Schooling/ Working:
Where At:
Free periods: (i.e. when you're not schooling/ working, for instance, after 6pm on weekdays & anytime on weekends, etc.)

I need a half page write-up of you as well, indicating a brief mention of your magic skills (and other skills besides magic) & if you've got any performing experience. Remember to tell us what time you're not available so we know how to slot you accordingly for the audition on Wednesday.

Prepare 2 sets of 3 tricks each to perform & frankly, my advice is really... Do stuff you're comfortable with because I'd rather be engaged by your unique presentation of a "common" classic, then be dismayed by an "underground" complex but illogical trick that may flop. *wry grin*

That said, please start practicing & rehearsing because we'd like to see you at your best ;)

Thanks much!

Cheers,
Ning ^_^

*Individuals will be contacted accordingly for their half-hour time-slots (starting 3 - 8pm @ our magic studio) so please don't be late or it'd be unfair & impolite to others!

**Send completed email to ning@conceptmagic.biz. Incomplete entries will be discarded.

Erm just asking, this is for close up or for stage??

Ning - November 22, 2007 11:05 AM (GMT)
It doesn't matter, simply because, it doesn't have to be that complex. I'm just looking for dynamic individuals who can be an all-rounder, essentially s/he has to love magic & posses the right attributes and attitudes because well, I want to make sure I actually like working closely with you. LOL!

Anyways. I've received emails from some people already. Thanks much, please keep them coming! ^_^

hi,

i think there's an typo error, audition should be on 19th Dec 2007? instead of Nov. Sounds fun! a pity i couldn`t commit that long as I have Industrial attachment for few months. :(

All the best in the search of the talents! ^_^

Alexander - November 22, 2007 12:33 PM (GMT)
Hmmm,

just curious, is there a contact involved?

Thanks for pointing that out to me :) You're sharp!

Yes, it's Dec not Nov.... I was in a big hurry to post this earlier before my stage show @ Suntec today *grin* Actually, if you think you're good for weekends, you can try out too. I'm pretty flexible on the schedule because I'm not looking for full-timers but a pool of regular "freelancers" so to speak. It's quite informal, because well, people who know my style know I'd still treat you as a friend... but of course there's professionalism involved and I expect appropriate respect & responsibility too.

Alex - Nope, no contract so don't worry about all that heavy duty "legal" stuff. I always work based on trust & integrity. Or do you really mean to say contact? If you do, well, I'm the only contact. LOL.

Oh yah. Only did I now realise that I typed contact instead of contract. Haha, geez, was distracted reading page 108 of dec fhm. Hmmm.

Heh... I personally prefer Magic Babe's picture on page 110 but p.108 does have that "Moulin Rouge" feel ^_^ Anyways, glad that I managed to answer your question anyway... LOL! Mentalism at play.

Thanks for the response thus far, everyone. In the case of overwhelming response, there may be an additional day besides the first audition date on 19 Dec. I'll provide details here accordingly. Location stays the same. Thanks much

Sounds interesting! Will consider!

Faris Magic Hands - November 25, 2007 05:23 AM (GMT)
Cool... sounds very interesting. Would want to join.

Ning - November 27, 2007 05:25 AM (GMT)
Thanks for the email responses thus far, everyone... it's been quite overwhelming! :) A gentle reminder - please follow the requested format as clearly mentioned in the post.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

There's a change in audition dates, instead of 19 Dec it is now going to be 10 & 11 Dec 07 so the cut-off date has been pushed forward to Mon, 3 Dec so please email me before then since it's just next week actually. I've tweaked the very first post above & I'm sincerely sorry but due to work, I won't be in SG during that original date.

Thanks much ^_^

So Ning,

We will be auditioning 2 sets of magic?

:) Yes, as mentioned, please come prepared with 2 sets of 3, so that's 6 different magic effects in all.

Also, if you think you've got something extra that can really WOW us, please feel free to prepare to showoff your other skills (juggling/ balloons/ etc.) as well *grin* Bear in mind that each person who comes to audition only has a max of 30 mins though, as exceeding the given time-frame wouldn't be fair to the people after you.

I'll be emailing you the audition dates accordingly after 3 Dec, so look out for it then ;) Thanks for the interests!

CHEERS,
Ning ^_^

LarryDK - November 28, 2007 07:33 PM (GMT)
WOW factor. Hmm.. I guess I bring the cheerleading routine to perform will create a WOW factor. LOL!!

Joking. Anyway, what i meant is, we must complete the 2 sets in 30 min? Or we should make use of the 30 min to show-off ourself?

Ace - November 28, 2007 07:48 PM (GMT)
This sounds great!

One question, will there be other audiences? Are they magicians too?

Ning - November 29, 2007 04:19 AM (GMT)
It's not going to be a formal thing, it's actually quite laid-back and casual, just in case you're freaked out by the word "audition" *grin* But still, I expect those who come to have the respect to do their best and also dress appropriately, just like how you're supposed to be professional if you're going to be showing off your chops at a paid gig.

Everyone has a max of 30 mins (most would probably only need 20?) & your presented repertoire shouldn't be draggy and boring. You also need to introduce yourself at the start, but I don't expect any long "grandfather" story  We'll also have an informal chat later of course...

Thanks folks, do mind the submission deadline because there's more than enough time really, if you're serious :) Cheers!

Ning - December 2, 2007 12:07 PM (GMT)
Just a gentle reminder to submit your "CV" to me before 3 Dec (that's tomorrow) if you're interested. Thank you :)

csjoshi - December 2, 2007 10:32 PM (GMT)

The email I sent you just bounced and I saw it back in my mailbox this morning. What should I do?
