Title: Revelation 101

Ok, what is your favourite way of revealing a chosen card?

Eg:
1. A la stigmata.: appearing on hands, legs or butt cheeks.
2. A mind reading way: ask them to have a mental picture and read their mind.
3. A prediction written on a piece of paper.
4. Derren Brown's way in which you tell them to shuffle the cards in their mind, seperate into black and red....blah blah blah and left only 1 card.

Ok, for my question, I'm assuming you have f***e card, g****se the card or using a s***k or m****d d**k. How would you reveal the card in the most spectacular fashion?

1) Hotshot cut, it helps if you can cut and catch between a pair of a kind.

2) via any color change. The winter change from Thank You LePaul from Full Metal Jacket is nice when done properly.

3) Force a card, use intercessor, card found in impossible location

4) Lastly, the Invisible deck. One of the best.

P.S. I've seen a clip posted by Ace, where his female friend named a card and Ace took out a deck revealing that there is only one card (which is the named card) among a deck of blank cards. That kinda blew me away. Nice job Ace! ^_^

I don't stick to any particular method as I usually perform multiple mentalism effects together. I would start with something simple like forcing a 7 or 3 of hearts using NLP techniques and then go on to something more stunning. Once in a while, I will reveal how I force the 7 on them before going on to other mind reading tricks. That way, the spectator will continue to think that all my other tricks are purely based on NLP techniques. Helps to keep them off guard.

Favourite mind reading: KENT by Kenton Knepper. (No props, impromptu)

Favourite back-up in case of failure: Kolossal Killer (Always carry with me in wallet). Invisible deck a close second.

Derren Brown's method is pretty good when I do not have any props with me and want to do something impromptu. Will perform this if I do not perform KENT.

If I have a pen and paper, Stigmata is good too.

Another favourite if I do bring props along is the radar deck.

I really like the method done in "Into the Abyss" DVD by Oz Pearlman. But I have not performed it as I have difficulty getting the suitable props in Brisbane.

Another method is to get them to think of a card, reveal it, get them to cut the deck that is infront of them all along, and look at the card they cut to. if it is the one they choose, they will get freaked out. If it is not, there are other methods to continue the story and end with a different effect.

BigBadWolf, I believe that Ace was using the Brainwave deck. I prefer to still to the invisible deck. Does not raise that much suspicion as the Brain wave deck.

I'm glad you like it. It is one of the effects I'm working on now. There are a few variations and that is one of them. =)

Nope, it's not a brainwave deck.

Unlike the brainwave deck, my effect can have the cards examined right after I revealed the face up card. They can name any card from the deck.
