Description: Music?
VictorNg - February 1, 2008 07:16 AM (GMT)
Erm, I can't find any subforum that is more suitable for posting this thread, so i post it here. If there's a more suitable place to ask this, MOD, please help me to move it. Okay, I just bought snowstorm sometime ago and I can't find any suitable music for the effect. Anyone please kindly list out the name of musics that are suitable for this effect? Thanks in advance. :)

I would strongly suggest you to think about the mood you wish to do this piece of magic in. It could be romantic ie. Rose petals to snow done in a romantic song. Or it could be oriental ie. snowstorm in china done to a chinese tune. There's really many many many possibilities. For me, I do it with a dynamic and funky tune as this piece of magic is being performed after Gene Anderson's Torn and Restored Newspaper. Think about it. Good lucK!

Kikitay's music for the snowstorm routine is Wish by S.E.N.S if I'm not wrong, a very nice piece of music indeed.

Hi, it might be a stupid question. But i wish to know if it's possible to perform close-up? Eg: Wedding dinner?
KyleRavin - February 13, 2008 12:38 PM (GMT)
If ur thinkin of doin a snowstorm for a wedding dinner...close up, consider that there will be food on the tables... consider that u'll be gettin ur audience showered with paper confetti, and that this will only be one table...IF ut qtn is not about snowstorm close up, i'm sorry... * winks
hedgehog - February 14, 2008 06:58 PM (GMT)
Yeah. I mean close up. You know when the couple walk in at the start. Those people beside the red carpet will use those party poper. So instead of that, i was think if it's possible to do a close up.
KyleRavin - February 15, 2008 04:28 AM (GMT)
it may work, as long as there's no food there. I had an idea for you. some wedding halls or function rooms will have the doors close. stand by the door and play some music to get attention...do a routine then work it into a snowstorm and fire away...after which, as the confetti is still in the air, get the DJ to announce that the doors are now open... Pm me for more details...Cheers

Hey Hedgehog.
Just a thought. Since its a wedding dinner, the spotlight should be on the couple... May not be appropriate to snowstorm when they are walking in.

Ya. That why i want to give them the feeling as if they were having snow with them. Quite romantic i think. Anyway it's my sis's wedding so wish to do something for her. So i don't know how to go about making it work.. Have to admit, I am still very new to magic. At the same time don't wish to spoil this nice trick if anything don't goes my way.

this is my first time to buy snowstorm, so i don't know whether do other brand snowstorm is the same with mine. but i think the snowstorm is different but with same effect. that's why i don't know how to perform since what i saw in most of the vid, their snowstorm routine is the one dip into water one.anyone can tell me how to perform using this type?
this is how's the snowstorm looks like
Navarrone - February 17, 2008 03:20 PM (GMT)
From what I see you bought the 'jumbo' version of the snowstorm. Normal ones aren't this big, they contain more 'snow' but are just a little harder to handle than normal ones.

Those "tablets" are meant to be switched for whatever you are using in your routine. It may be a rose petal, tissue paper, newspaper, wet paper, whatever you can think of. I think the rest is self explanatory. Of course you need a fan too!!! Good luck! Please buy SEO's snowstorm. Other versions are simply terrible.
KyleRavin - February 19, 2008 10:34 AM (GMT)
you can do the same or work out soemthin new...all snowstorms are about the same but my best reccomendation is the Alan wong snowstorm. The paper is a lil thinner and the capsule is harder to break. Thus, not givin u unwanted mess when you're not performing it. perhaps you want to do a torn and restored paper then tear it again for a snow storm?
