Hey guys, I'm just starting out on the electric guitar... been mainly just looking up tabs on the internet for songs I like, and then I try and play them... like Blink 182 the best, though.
Any good recommendations on how to start? I'm not very good, trust me... I wanna find if there's another route I should be taking.

Hey Kev, you're not gonna complete the image with your boyish good looks.
1. Pick a few fights. Get weapons into it so that you can get a few scars in the face and walk with a slight limp.
2. Go to the gym and get bigger muscles...then become anorexic so that the muscles will be hanging from the flesh prominently for that stripped out look.
3. Tattoos...can't get enough of them. Include profanity and pictures of the occult in them.
4. Earrings...what's with heavy metal if there ain't metal hanging from the 'lobes?
5. You aren't gonna go far with black hair. Choose only flourescent colours. If you insist on black, just make sure your jacket, hate-crime T-shirt, leather jeans, thongs, whip and mascara / eye shadow are jet black as well to get that gothic look. If you find mascara too cumbersome, a mild daily overdose of hallucinogens will help.

For some really crazy and good guitar riffs, I reccomend Power Metal's IRON MAIDEN or guitar-themed Dream Theatre.
These few songs are very worth learning :
Cradle of Filth - Hallowed by thy Name.
Dream Theatre - Fatal Tragedy (this one can really blow you off!)
Marilyn Manson - Sweet Dreams/Disposable Teens...
Slipknot - Surfacing.

Hehe... Kevin wannabe a punk rocker, not a heavy metallist. :P The only group I listen to that falls in the metal category is System of a Down.

Just kidding, I love System of a Down. But I'm aiming at Blink 182 (back in the days when they were still punk), learning some of their older songs like Dammit, Carousel, Ben Wah Balls, Peggy Sue.
Come to think of it, I don't really play any other songs beside ones from these guys. Any hardcore Blink fans here? :D
