Description: Hello, nice to know all of you here...

Hi everyone,
I'm Zundeng
34 yrs old (hmmm... too old to start learning magic huh?)
Never thought of learning magic untill I came across a cart selling magictricks in a shopping centre. I bought a magic deck there and play with it, so far my hands get quite clumsy with the deck.
Still in an exploratory stage to which area to specialise into? just ordered some DVDs, looking forward to receive it...
I regard magic as an art which brings fun to others.

Welcome to the forum. Its never too old to start anything.
Do some research first before buying anything. When a person first gets started, he'll tend to buy anything and everything. This is a process everyone goes thru. The description in a magic ad is always very good but the product itself may not be. Anyway, hope you have a good time, magic is not easy but it sure is fun.

Hi, thanks for the encouragement!
The card trick is quite challenging, I get myself started with the basic technique like fanning and cutting, not sure is it the correct way to start a card trick practice but it is fun.

I also started like you not too long ago. Same thing, I went through the phase of buying a lot of useless stuff. Just make sure you think 2 or 3 times before buying so that after buying, you cannot blame anyone except yourself. Ask others who have bought the magic products if it is good before buying. Don't depend on the shopkeeper because they will probably give good reviews in order to clear their stock. Ask those magicians who are around your level.
I think it is a good idea to start with some basic card handling skills like how to hold the deck properly. Check out Born to Perform by Oz Pearlman. Get the fundamentals right so that it is easier for you later on. Hope this helps!

Oh... I should have ask for opinion first, just bought few DVDs not too long ago. A set of 7 complete card magic DVD set, bought it cause of promotion price, the description says it covers from basic till advance skill, so I thought of it would be a good buy as it like teaching from kindergarten till university.
Anyway, the stuff is on its way ship to me. Hope this set of DVD would kept me busy for the year ahead...

Hi Zundeng,
Firstly, welcome to the forums. Glad that you have joined us.
You mention that you just started out and recently purchase a set of 7 dvds to learncard magic. Maybe you can let us know the name of the DVD set, and hopefully some of us can or might be able to give you a decent review of what you will be getting.
However, if you are still interested in card magic, I personally would recommend you the following.
1.) Daryl's Encyclopedia of card Sleights (Vol 1- 8)
2.) Micahael Ammar Easy to Master Card Miracles (Vol 1-9)
Cheers!!!
Happy Practicing!
