best friend of mine, said that JC Sum was the best magician in Singapore, i told her that there might be many better than him, JC Sum might be good in some way but not all, (Mr JC Sum, please don't angry with my comment)..., there are some good one too, such as Mr Magician from FCBC, Mr Pei, Mr John, Ms Ning, Mr Iron, Mr Shawn and Mr Chua etc(just name some).

So may i know who is the best magician in Singapore today. B)

Tell him that the best magician in Singapore are the one that can recharge his mana without any potion.

Actually magic is like 1 of those sports that do not have a best player, for example snooker and american pool, every year there will be competition, like magic, around the world, and the winner will not always be the same person.

To me, a good magician is someone who can amaze the audience. :D

How to classified who is the best magician? None I supposed.

Some magicians behave like they are the best, full of theories and comments. Some even go to the extent of blowing his trumpet on his performances. It's just "Empty Vessel Makes The Most Noise".

To be a good magician (not best), you must always be able to be booked for repeated shows and not for the first and last show.

As for Axl, you have my vote for being a likeable, friendly and honest magician, who is also willing to learn and pay $25.00 per effect. ha.......

As many correctly pointed out, 'best' cannot be generally quantified and must be agreed upon in context. Your definition of 'best' will be defined by supporting testament, proof, evidence.... For e.g.:

The best magic convention magician may be one who generally is booked for multiple conventions, every after year, regardless of the country

The best technical magician may be one that is widely acknowledged by peers for technical ability and/ or won mulitple awards in a technical category

The best magician's magician may be the one who has won the most international magic awards in different competitions.

The best commerical magician may be one who commands the highest fee and/ or has the highest level of public exposure, media etc

The best magician may simply be considered by others because he/ she shares their knowledge generously

Then there are catergories to magicians, who can say a stage magician is better than a close-up magician and vice versa. Are manipulators better than mentalists... apples & oranges.

So, there are many 'bests', it is what you define it as 'best' or more importantly what your target audience defines as the 'best'. For example the 'best' kids magician who gets booked full year after year can easily be the 'best', even if some adults don't think he is a good magician at all. It is all in the context.

And as Uncle Bob rightfully highlighted, a good magician is one with repeated positive track record that is proven over time. No one can dispute or deny objective testament within your (or your target audience) defined view of 'best'! The audience can clearly make up their own minds when making objective side-by-side comparisions.
