Title: Extreme Burn
Description: by Richard Sanders

qureyoon - March 18, 2008 03:59 AM (GMT)
Anybody have a review for Extreme Burn ?

Would like to know about the "last a lifetime" one (not the g*****k)
QUOTE
Specially manufactured g*****k that is built to last a lifetime

Will it really last for years ?

Considering this, because it says it "Works with any currency."

Thanks ^_^

Extreme Burn

Video Quality:

I finds the quality to be a little off-par compared to his previous videos. Richard does the explaination in different places and not in a studio. My dvd has some sound issues, but its still understandable.

Method:

Brilliant! The modification is just a little simple addition and you get an Easy Money effect with no covers or awkward turnovers. What you see in his demo is what you get. (There is this uncut demo Richard just put up. Just take a look)

Prophet

Video Quality:

I purchased the download from T11, the quality is good but the downloading procedure still isn't a smooth sailing one.

Method:

Those who knows the original construction from Patrick Page will be able to do this without having to purchase it. Basically, this is just a different handling. Nothing special. The 'move' requires is something very very simple, (so simple, its comparable to the difficultly from Control). Also Prophet requires a slight cover during the 'move'

Hope this review helps, confused magis who do not know what to purchase, don't follow in my footsteps and buy both, just get Extreme Burn. Trust me. You will regret if you get the T11's version. If you think I'm bias, get both at your own risk.

Yes, the gimmick will last for a lifetime.

Yes, it works with any currency, (banana notes also can). But you cannot do a bill-to-bill change with it. (e.g. $2 to $50, cannot...)

Due to the different bill sizes in Singapore, you can either change magazine clippings to dollar bills, which I personally think is very strong OR you can cut your $50 down to the size of a $10, $5 or $2 (nobody in the right mind will do that).

Hope it answers your questions ^_^

Didn't expect to have a review versus Prophet !

Thanks a lot. Will keep this in mind :)

May i ask what is magazine clippings ?

Is it paper cut out from magazine ?

Friend, Seriously.

Unless your english standard is to a certain level, or else I don't get it why you cannot understand a bit of information like magazine clippings.

Because your posts, not only here, raise up suspicions that you are just trying to fool around (or you on drugs) and push your posts.

So, my last bit of advise to you, please please ask related and sound question than questions like, "what is a magazine clipping?"

There are 2 answers for these:

1) Magazine clippings are information you cut out from a magazine and store it, thus, in the context of this effect, it means sheets of magazine the size of a dollar bill.

2)Magazine clippings are clips that clip magazine together.

I hope you don't think its the second one. Thanks.

If i am trying to push my post , i wouldn't be posting less than 1 post per day.

I really didn't understand what does magazine clippings because i rarely read magazine and i have never encountered the word.

LarryDK - May 8, 2009 02:17 AM (GMT)
Ok, then for your info again. You don't need to read Magazine to know what is Magazine Clippings.

The point is, you can always do search before asking and you will always get more information in that way. But your posts apparently doesn't reflect that. Well if I going to say that Newspaper clippings will work the same, are you going to ask me what is Newspaper clippings then?

Now for your info, Newspaper Clippings and Magazine Clippings are the same, just that 1 is extracted from the newspaper, 1 is extracted from the magazine.

You see, if even these small things you can't bother to search for, or ask your parents or siblings about it, then you will have serious problem in learning magic. You will always be lead by people's response in threads or information, then brainstorming yourself, search for answers. Which you might end up with something more interesting or valuable than what others comment.

So do yourself a favor, brainstorm, search, probe. But do it intelligently.

I understand from this topic that extreme burn's gimmick last for a lifetime.

However, i have a question whereby for example, i used the gimmick for a magazine to SGD2 dollar change. Can i still reuse the gimmick making it become a magazine to SGD5 dollar change? Or the gimmick will be stuck forever to be used as a magazine to SGD2 dollar change?

Bob Chua - June 19, 2009 07:02 AM (GMT)
Hi Guys

I just don't understand why you need the so called special gimmick for the effect "Extreme Burn".

I have been using this same effect regularly for the last 30 years without that so called gimmick. It literally cost you nothing to have one.

I understand this effect was first conceived by a British Magician, Patrick Page. However, I learned mine from a manuscript by Fred Kaps and he just simply called it "Paper to Money".

Greg Wilson also has a very similar effect called "Hundy 500.

If I can remember, you can buy this effect for a couple of dollars from local dealers. Of course it does not come with that so called special gimmick.

Hope this helps.

Uncle Bob

Magicdow - June 19, 2009 07:02 AM (GMT)
You'll just need to prepare the gimmick again.

o0oKIRAo0o - July 7, 2009 01:37 AM (GMT)
Hi, just got my extreme burn, but i got problem finding the rubber cement. Does anyone know where to get it? i went to afew hardware shops but to no avil.

Also i got the problem of the gimmick been quite thick and its quite obvious that the gimmick got something wrong under a normal person point of view. what kind of magazine should i use? or will plain A4 paper will be better?

Magicdow - July 7, 2009 03:18 AM (GMT)
Go to Art Friend for the glue. There is one in Takashimaya and one in Bras Basah.

o0oKIRAo0o - July 7, 2009 07:57 AM (GMT)
okok thanks alot =D

wkc - July 24, 2009 05:01 AM (GMT)
I am also thinking of buying extreme burn. Isit better than Slow burn or hundy 500?

Bob Chua - July 24, 2009 10:46 AM (GMT)
You need not rubber cement for Extreme Burn. I have been using UHU Glue Stick for the past 30 years on this trick.

Use pages from colourful magazine, preferable with a rough texture coz it will make your counting easier.

Uncle Bob

Hi kc,

Slow Burn is also taught in Extreme Burn.

Hi uncle Bob, thanks for the suggestion  will try out later these few days.

another question i just thought of recently while working is that which type of note should we use? plastic or the paper note??? i felt plastic note have quality but there the log which is transparent which may spoil our trick right? so which type of note should i use? can someone enlighten me?

Bob Chua - July 28, 2009 01:17 AM (GMT)
As for me I would prefer paper bills then plastic. It's the feel and counting is much easier.

Ok thanks alot your advice was a great help =D

kang meng - October 9, 2010 03:28 AM (GMT)
I've got some questions to ask:
1)After doing this trick where visually change magazine clips ect. to bills, the bills cannot be use anymore because of the "super or permanent glue"?
If that's the case then isn't it waste money, the money can throw away because of no use anymore?

2)Need to prepare your own bills first before perfoming? So cannot use borrowed bills from spectator?

3) Is the preparation tedious?

Because i'm thinking of buying this.

VisualShoxx - October 9, 2010 09:33 AM (GMT)
I would say, the money still can be use even after constructing the thing.

Spectator bills can actually be used.

And preparation wise? I would say its as easy as taking the money our from the wallet. =)

Good trick, nice trick and worth the money. Go ahead.

kang meng - October 10, 2010 09:45 AM (GMT)
then instead of changing magazine clips to bills, can i change magazine clips to newspaper clips. change to other thing except bills, is it possible?

Because i'm thinking that using bills to make this is a little waste, i might as well use it to spent.

myhobbyismagic - October 11, 2010 03:02 AM (GMT)
It will be harder to notice, but after all, it is Okay, for the newspaper, choose a more "wordy" part, then the magazine choose a "more picture" part. That will show more!

Ashtrix - October 11, 2010 03:17 AM (GMT)
Extreme burn could work to transform from any paper item to another. For E.g. blank paper to magazine clip or to news paper or any thing.

But in my openion, its beauty lies in the effect that is created in the spectator's mind rather than the actual trick. Producing money has its own charm and it is something that for years have interested all spectators.

Who would not like to produce money from waste or out of nothing and that is real magic. So while it may block your few dollars but you can always use it by unding what you have done but it is well worth that effort.

Just my openion about it.

kang meng - October 14, 2010 04:09 AM (GMT)
ok, last few question, there's a new one called extreme burn 2.0 right? anyone brought that? so after doing the trick the money can actually be handed out for examination? (is it hard to do that? ) there's really minimal risk of spectator spotting the extra thickness of the magazine clips or bills?

And is this or the handout 500 better?

thanks everyone of the reviews.

KiuiYamamoto - October 16, 2010 05:54 AM (GMT)
Extreme Burn 2.0 is exactly the same as Extreme Burn, but with a new thinner gimmick and hand out tips. It comes with a plastic wallet to store your gimmicked bills and to help during the process of handing out the bills. Hope that doesn't give out too much hints. :D

kang meng - October 19, 2010 03:29 AM (GMT)
Because I'm looking for one that can instance reset and can be examine after doing this trick.

Example, after transforming to bills, hand out the bills for examination, then can I proceed to next group of spectator to perform again?

If not, is the reset time seeking?
Really need you guys help, thanks.

Uncle Bob

I just brought the extreme burn 2.0
But i think use rubber cement is easier because it got a brush, so spreading of the glue is more well spread and using of rubber cement, the bills can be unattach more easier then using any other glue.

For the currency, in my opinion i think that plastic bill cannot be use because it won't let you fold up, if you try to fold it, it will force it's way to pop up which will make the gimmick thicker. Thus, need to try to find SG paper bill which i think $2 is good.

Is it possible to go to a bank and use plastic bills and ask to change to paper bills? will they allow and will they change like 5 two dollars bills only?
Hope that someone will go and try.

kang meng - November 12, 2010 01:16 PM (GMT)
Yeah, now trying to get $2 paper bills from my friends. going to bank for exchange think can forget about it. And i got another way, that is when buying things from a shop, can ask whether they have $2 paper bills change.

By the way, other than art friend, where can i get rubber cement?can anyone help?

KiuiYamamoto - December 30, 2010 06:17 AM (GMT)

Hi there, Just hoping to get a product review from you guys.
no no, not the full review. I know how this works.

What I hope to find out is.
1) how often do you perform this effect.
2) over 10 where 1 is least useful and 10 is most useful, how much would you grade extreme burn?
