Title: Rules And Regulation
Description: Events and Meetings

ChanZiAn - May 30, 2008 09:23 PM (GMT)
This is the Events and Meetings section. Please read these rules before post anything in this section. Failure to comply to these rules will earn you warnings. Not a prospect you should be thrilled by.

1) This section is limited to SMC events and meetings ONLY! Anything organised by SMC people can be posted here. This includes:

-SMC bi-monthly meetings.
-Any event/celebration organised by SMC
-Lecture or courses organised by SMC

2) THIS IS THE NEW RULE!

In line with the no advertising in your signature rule that was implemented many months ago, there will no longer be anymore self pomotion allowed here in the Events and Meeting section.

From now on, all events, big or small, will be posted by the mods only. If you have an event you would like to promote, or would like to share with the rest of the SMC community, you must send it to one of the mods, and he will post it on your behalf.

This will prevent any potential biases, and increase transparency within SMC. Thus, if any promotion is required, SMC will do it for you.

SMC is also interested in promoting the local/overseas magic scene. Thus, as long as the event is in the interest of the community at large, we will be more than glad to help promote it.

However, there will be some events that we will not promote, and we will also not want to be part of. Examples are magic classes taught for the purpose of cheating, fraud or picking up girls.

We hope that everyone will be familiar with this new rules and that all will adhere to it. Thank you all in advance.

This rule also applies to those who are hiring people. There are cases where people are taken advantage of.

Magicians have invested their time and money for this art, they didn't learn for free. Please do not come here and try to hire magicians for free. If the event organisers can afford the venue, the food, the waiting staffs etc, they should be able to afford the magicians.

Magicians are not in need of places to perform, there are plenty of old folks home, hospitals etc to perform in. Don't treat magicians cheaply.

If you are organising a genuine charity event, you can always approach the moderators. We are not hard-hearted, we just don't want people to be taken advantage of.

This is for the good of everyone.
