Title: Wedding Magic.

Need some advice from you guys...

Background: I'm suppose to be performing close-up at a wedding reception for about 45 min.

Questions:

1. For those who ever performed at wedding reception, do you performed strolling or set up a table at a spot?
If it's the latter, how do you get the attention of the people there?

2. What are the kind of effects you would prepare?
If using a table, how would you manage the flow of the audience? As in, if people keep staying there and watch, and you run out of effects?

3. If you are to do table hopping during the dinner, what kind of effects you would do so that it can be seen by the people around the table?

I just had a show for a cocktail ballroom wedding dinner on Sunday night
I prepared several effects which is suitable for all genre and also associated with the wedding as well.

For strolling, I did Heart-shaped sponge routine and professor nightmare variation
On table hopping, I did Mcdonald aces and anniversary waltz
Flash papers are used for deck and sponge production as each table has a small lit candle.

Wedding is a happy event, I want my magic to create beautiful wonders and not puzzles, therefore I perform straight forward effects which are visual and elegant.

Is your wedding "Yam Seng"(chinese style) or "Cheers"(western style)? Chinese wedding is more difficult to perform as the environment is loud and the seats are crampy

Oh, finally a response... thank you sooo much!!

It's a chinese wedding, and yes, I may decide not to do table hopping due to the noise.

Eh.. anniversary waltz? What's e effect?

Check out Doc Eason's Bar Magic for the Anniversary Waltz effect.
If you want to learn this trick, $25.00 for TBMIS.

As for me, doing close up or strolling at wedding or non wedding event does not not make a difference. Just do what you are good at.

I only customize my effects unless requested by the organiser of a coporate show. The guests just don't care. As long as you do something magical and entertaining they will applaud whether out of sincerity or sympathy.

Keep going and good luck to you axl.

Because ... you're supposed to be reading the RULES first.

This is a common etiquette when you're signing up in any type of forums.

Each forums have different rules. Gaming forums, Design forums, Web forums, Hardware forums, Manga forums, Anime forums, anything.

When you sign up, the first thing to do is AT LEAST skim through the Rules.
Especially when you're signing up to some unique forums ;)

Well, I think I've been in too many forums, so ... ^_^

Anyway... enjoy your stay here.
