Sometimes i have committed a stupid mistake and i wonder if people out there also commit such mistake.
You have bought an improved version of something which is in fact looks the same to the audience. For example, a coin bend can be easily obtain using a S***** and maybe you want to make it look nicer, you purchase a gimmick over hundred to perform this. If properly presented both methods can look almost alike so why do you have to spend more money buying the gimmick?
Another example of the mistake i make is buying gecko. Disappear of item can be easily achieved. And i still went on to purchase the Gecko hoping to disappear item easily. When i think in turn of audience perspective, both method will look the same.
Any guru out there to enlighten me? Why I always search for a better method which will look alike to the audience anyway?
I guess there's nothing wrong to look for a better method to achieve the same effect. But how you define "better" might be of interest. Some people feel "better" equates to easier. Others would say "better" equates to "cleaner" perhaps? So, when you equate it to "cleaner" per se, you are already having the audience in mind. So, I don't think that it's totally the same to the audience point of view.
A vanish is indeed a vanish. But it might differ in all sorts of ways. It might be executed with plenty of cover, while another method possibly allows you to do it with much less. Some vanish probably is very angley, while others are not so. Some methods probably works better with some distance, while others can be executed even when the audience are just inches away. So, with the end in mind, you need to definitely search for the best possible method for achieving so.
In short, different methods probably have its own unique pros and cons. You have to weigh them and use them accordingly. Having new methods of doing the same thing wont be a lost to you, but actually it is something of an advantage. If you know 10 methods for vanishing the same object, you are probably better of than someone who only knows 1 method.
Think about it, why are there so many ways to palm a coin? Aren't they invented for the same purpose? Cheers!
Thank you very much for enlightening me for the butterfly and this. When i think of it again, i quite agree with this statement "different methods probably have its own unique pros and cons". Maybe in certain situation, only that method can pull it off so it is an advantage if you know more. I get what you mean.
I think this forum only left 2 of us. LOL. :off:
Haha. I have to agree. This forum is pretty dead recently.
Everyone's just very busy; I suppose things'll pick up pretty soon... ;)
Do come by for the gathering. We'll just sit around and sip coffee and make fun of ourselves.

Nah... I just think maybe this topic is abit too abstract. Like not many people can related to it, hence the response.
