Hi everyone, it's been quite a while since someone post something under "stage magic". Let me just share with you some things. Well, I have been playing with stage magic for quite a while now and I've been very much fascinated with magic that evolves around a sketchbook. From Kevin James' Bowling Ball production to Cyril's Fish Bowl production, these effects are truly lovely piece of magic, well at least to me.
A few years ago, I then saw Kenji Minemura performing his fism act which almost totally evolve around productions from skecthbook. From production of sunglasses, to rose and so much more. There's so much magic in that 4mins or so. He was indeed my starting point, and eversince then I've been trying to construct an act that is similar. I manage to produce a "coca-cola" act earlier last year, and to be honest I was nowhere satisfied with it, although I did do quite ok with that act.
This year, I am preparing a new act which will also have a certain theme to it, and yes! again, I'll be using the sketchbook! But not for just one production. I hope to do a full act with my sketchbook never leaving my hands! So, If you guys have ideas for what I can possibly produce from a sketchbook, or have seen other magicians do something similar, do share with me and the rest! Thanks!
perhaps, come up with a cool dude going on a date themed act. u could pull out a ton of thing. Flowers, perfume, greeting card, perhaps even a dove. And to end it... (this is crazy but imagine it done with BLK Art) make a girl crawl out from the sketch pad!
Hey Kyle, I am already working on the act, indeed it has something to do with a magician on a date! Hahaha.. Been playing around with the idea of producing a girl as a finale, but still looking for the most convenient method that is not that angle sensitive.
I'm putting the act on hold for now as I am working on some other stuffs! Cheers!
