Title: Revealing Gambling Techniques?

TheSilentillusionist - July 19, 2008 02:16 PM (GMT)
Hello to all SMC members.

To those who watched 千术之王 (king of cheats in gambling) by Andy Guo on Channel U and Cable TV, what do you guys think?

He is a good guy on one hand who reveals techniques which casinos and illegal gambling dens use to cheat people's money and warn people not to gamble.

On the other hand, he reveals sleights (F**se Sh***le, DL, controls etc) on cheating in poker cards, which in my opinion have some negative effects on magicians.

Laymen who watched the show might know a magician is executing that sleight which they saw on TV.

For me, I would have to think through and eliminate some of the sleights that I use or try to change it a bit.

What's your opinion?

Peace,
TSi

A good, ethical magician don't rip other magicians' effects and sell it as his own.

I've got a very bad impression of this man.

I don't think that it will make much difference, afterall, how many times has this sleights been revealed? And also, laymen should also not even know when such sleights are being done.

He did? Hmm, I've seen some products on his website. Last time I saw some street stalls selling his DVD. It's very sloppy packaging which makes me think it's pirated.

I've bad impression of him too because of the revealing. I don't watch his shows anymore though.

They might suspect though. It might leave some doubts in their mind.

That's my opinion=)

Yes. This man is dominating the market in china. I bought his cheap dvd before. It is like around 10 sing and he teach alot of sleight of hands and control inside. Dont worry, i get rid of them now. Even props and fake bicycle cards, he manufacture all. I heard from my friend that he do have a big company in ShenZhen. I wonder why such people exist. :(

TheSilentillusionist - July 20, 2008 01:59 PM (GMT)
He is on the Wu Zhong Xian show and the Zhong Yi Da Ge Da also.

Yeah, I've seen fake bicycle decks selling with his DVD. It's a guy mending the stall. His ascent sounds like he is from Hong Kong too. I have his name card though. Left it in my wallet for a few years already.

His DVD teaches a lot of stuff but I didn't buy it because at that time I was a newbie and I was scared I won't understand what he is teaching because of his ascent?

Peace,

Manufacturing fake bikes? At least pirating casino cards would be a bit more intelligent but how much can he make from pirating bikes *LAUGH OUT LOUD*.

Hmm, if what cl3BerbOi said about his factory in China is true, he can print the pirated Bicycle deck at very very low cost.

Maybe he wants to mislead newbies in magic to buy. If he manufacture 1 at 10cents, he can sell at SGD2.

I read from somewhere that IBM Taiwan had write letter to him to stop doing those thingy. But now sure how's it going now. Luckily in Malaysia there's no TV show showing his revealing video.. Phew

Almost everything that are pirated MAKE MUCH MUCH MORE MONEY than you can think of bro ;) If a pirater sees your comment, they'll laugh back at you, and throw you a bunch of money for you :P j/k

Why ? Cause they just pirate with more cheap raw materials ! At minimum they can reap at least 100% profit !

That's why there's a lot of anti-piracy are being told. It's bad for the original creator.

Anyway, piracy is not something to laugh about, it's something we should not get ourself into

I totally support qureyoon. Pirated can earn much more than the creator. From the places i have been in china, all those magic shops are ordering their goods from him. Sad to say, i've seen these goods selling in magic shop in singapore. I hope he will stop someday.

Sorry guys, but we can only hope... we can't really stop such people. There will ALWAYS be such people around and the only thing we can do is not to buy from them.

Anyway, back to the topic:

I think we don't have to worry so much. With the internet, with E, with the masked magician, with the Mac magician around and plenty of bad magicians around... you do realized there are still more than enough people for you the amazed, right?

There are still people who think magicians hide coins/cards up their sleeves, and people who still think all magicians use Svengali Deck or M**Ked Deck. I should know... I just met one in KL.
