Title: Who Invented....?
Description: the P2P Change

Who invented P2P change?
Was it meant to be a visual change or a subtle move?

Anybody has/know where is a good video of it's performance (not teaching)?

Cheers

The creator of the P2P change is not known. Apparently the move was around for years, but not really claimed by anyone in particular.

I believe it was meant to be a a subtle change, but there are times when it is used as a colour change as well.

Here are the videos where you can find the P2P change:

Sankey's Revolutionary Coin Magic
Curtis Kam Palms of Steel 3
Coinjuror by David Neighbors

Since these are instructional vids, they also teach you how the move is done.

You can also find the instructional for the move in Kaufman's Coin Magic book.

i believe this originated as a subtle move from dice hustlers long time ago...

Ok, thanks guys....

I've been working on using this move for use as a quick visual change. Can get it 70% of the time now as a visual change but damn it's nerve racking to perform and need warm up exercises but i think it's worth the effort. Wonder if i can ever get it down to performance standard thou

Any tips?

yeah, gordie's right. the move was used by gamblers to switch in two loaded dice for normal ones.. david roth mentioned it on one of his videos.

Morphine: you can try with smaller coins first. secondly, try balancing the coin to be switched out on your middle finger. thirdly, you can always say"if i squeeze the coin tight.." to cover the squeezing motion of the move.

it's hard to do the move invisible.

Actually, I think Morphy's doing it very nicely already... why don't you post your video clip online again, share it with the rest? :)

there is a substitute for the P2P change. it's called the drop switch. I'm sure you've heard of it, Morphine..

Drop switch? Is that jay sankey's suggestion of alternative to bobo switch? I didn't like that one too much.
P2P combined with kaps subtlety is pretty fierce... B) It's just so difficult to get down to performance standards.

no man... the drop switch is by david roth's video. live in sacramento...

I like using P2P as a visual change as well. Put more practice time in and use light but not too small coins.

I do P2P as a visual change on both hands at the same time for a very visual and effective transposition of 2 coins. You should try it.

P2P on both hands at the same time?? Sounds cool....you've gotta show us sometime during an outing.
