Title: Wtb: Cards Dvd

Hi:

I'm an avid follower of card magic (closeup only) and I don't use a VCR anymore. I want to build up my DVD collection and I want to know how I can get hold of card trick DVDs. I collect almost everything so I will want to know what prices are out there and whether I will get a discount for buying many.

Thanks in advance.

For DVDs you can actually ask some of our dealers in here like Cynwell "cyngapore". You can ask him for some recommendation on which dvds to get and etc.

Born to Perform Card Magic with Oz Pearlman
Stealing Pips: The Card Magic of Oz
Million Dollar Card Magic with Simon Lovell
Queens out of Control

These are the few DVDs that I'm eyeing, but not sure about the quality.

If you are new, then born to perform should be fine for you. Cause if i remember, it teaches you ACR, Biddle, 2 Card Monte.. Correct me if i am wrong guys, i think and a few cuts/sleights. Elmsley too ? i think this is what Oz taught in the vid.

yeah... ure right winder. Oz pearlman is good... i like his BTP vid... stealing pips is also cool, but i like BTP better. stealing pips is a lil more challenging.

stephen, i recommend u getting vids from ellusionist.com too. i think brad is a really good teacher. how expereince are u with card magic?

and if u really want a collection... well... cards... go for michael ammar easy to master card miricles vol 1-9. superb!! my fav.

Hmm.. or try Daryl Encyclopedia of Card Sleights, everything is about Sleights... I only got volume 1 and 2, but i must say Vol 1 and 2 are very basic, so i would suggest people getting from 2 onwards if you don't know what is a glide, if you know glides and control. Suggest getting Vol 3 and above. Which currently i don't have the cash to get Vol 3 and above :).

well... abt Daryl ECS i suggest getting them all. as a collector.. i like to have full and complete sets.. all the vols and not abit here and there. Daryl ECS is v good! i like it a lot. i mean one vol really teaches u many sleights and sum u never tot of too! lol... worth getting all :P.

stephen... tell us more abt ur experience with card magic.. wat do u know?

Winder - January 18, 2005 09:41 AM (GMT)

I have the Daryl series, Michael Ammar, etc, etc and a whole bunch but all on Videos. I want DVDs as I don't have a working VCR. Just got the Allen Ackerman 8 series one. Boring as hell.............I'm looking not so much as to look at the technical aspect, more the way these people do the presentation.

I have been doing card tricks for many years now :) and have been members of magic clubs in US and UK. Been to Vegas to learn also.

Don't get me wrong...from a technical perspective, flawless. From a user point of view, I can't watch past 10 mins each time.
