The Magic of David Regal

Never have I been more inspired by a magic video, EVER. Regal's sheer ingenuity and just-can't-hate-me presentation made me do a 180-turn on my view of close-up magic, when I first watched this about 2 years ago. Regal has the kind of stuff that makes you think "oh, why didn't I think of that?!" But you know you wouldn't. So there you have it, a top-notch product from a top-notch magician.

Hit the Road

Paul and Lee are AWESOME in this gritty "documentary" style DVD. With guest appearances from the creme de la creme such as David Regal, Dean Dill, Ashford Kneitel, the Buck Brothers, and even Paul and Lee themselves (duh), this DVD is one hell of a ride. Just don't EVER watch the "$100,000 breasts" segment, though.

Performance Vidz - Luna Shemada!!! OMG... Her incredible pyro zombie ball routine, planetary parasol production, linking rings and more, simply rocked my world! She's got an incredible presence and made everything look so graceful & completely magical, I wanted to worship her immediately :P

She's managed to breakway from her famous illusionist daddy (yes, the great japanese performer, Mr. SHEMADA) and carve her own career & style. There's just so much you can learn from her from just watching her do her thing... besides the magic (how did she do that?) there's the movements (wow, that really is a good/ smart/ graceful theatrical move!), theme of the shows, etc. Very nice!!!!

Instructional Stuff - PK Silverware. Hated Gerry's bitchy side (how lame and desparate for camera attention can one go really) but Banachek was a good teacher and I liked his humble attitude. Besides, the routine really is incredible & has a dear place in my heart (sorry Morgan- you're better looking but Banachek's routine still beats yours hands down!) ;)

Jeff McBride is really cool too - I truly respect him! He's got so much energy and is a true veteran of the art.

Jay Sankey Revolutionary Coin Magic
--------------------------------------------

dun know other jay sankey stuff... cos nv buy.. but i have to tell u... THIS DVD ROCKS!!! lol... i watch this vid repeatedly not for his tricks.. but for his jokes!!.. his jokes are so natural... i mean it doesnt seem prepared.. and his expression when cracking jokes.. (no expression) haha, this makes it funnier.. and he likes to change his voice for each trick tutorial.. haha nv run out of idea in his humour... hmmm y am i toking abt him and his humour.. should start toking abt its content ..ya, this dvd features lots of excellent and CLEVER coin routines.. and not only few routines.. they are alot of them!.. so its a greeat investment to spend on if one wans to specialise coinmagic.. of course they are other kinds of good vids out there.. i hav watched other dvds too.. but this particular one simply seem to be more interesting.. but the only few disadv of this dvd is that... one should be equipped with some basic coin sleights before watching this or u cant catch cos sometimes.. he assume that the watcher has known the sleights so he pass them quickly..... but thats nothing.. it jus make me enjoying it by laughing more than learning...

David Acer's Open Traveller
It's more top notch stuff from David Acer. Nuff' said.

Gregory Wilson's On the Spot
It's more top notch stuff from Greg Wilson. Nuff' said.

Hit the Road
One of the most interesting and informative DVDs I have. The thing features guys like the Bucks, Lee Asher, Paul Wilson, Bruce Cervon, David Regal, Dean Dill, Earl Nelson, Ashford Kneitel, Rod the Hop, other crazy stuff like the Chef Anton segment, Cary Durgin's backflip in the middle of the casino, and other hilarious moments like the discussion with Bob Kohler in the outtakes section. A warning is that if you watch the one-million dollar breasts segment, you WILL be mentally disturbed and emotionally scarred for the rest of your life.

Here's an interesting tidbit from the dvd that you all didn't know that should be tempting enough for you to want to buy it - Paul Wilson is actually Dan Buck's father :D

Gregory Wilson's On The Spot

Wow, simply the best material out there for impromptu stuff. I love the Paper Balls Over Head, Florida Keys and Recapped. Brilliant stuff from my greatest inspiration.

Gregory Wilson's Card Stunts

This inspired me to start cards. Before this video, card magic was boring and predictable. This guy gave me the impression that he could do ANYTHING with cards. All material from Greg is worth it's price and more. Funny as hell, the ultimate entertainer.

Bill Malone's On The Loose

The FUNNIEST magic I've ever watched, with some awesome card handling with the most original presentation and killer effects. Wow. It is SO seldom you find video volumes without sequel-itis. Bill Malone really did it with this one.

People,

Off Topic Alert!

Despite what you may think, men's magazines are not equal to magic. Magicians pull rabbits out of hats, not any other way around.

anyways

Any talk on the PSI series? We know Banachek's a bleeding genius (thank you for that post, Ning!), but do these vids agree? Good/Bad?

Greg's quite popular, huh. I, too, agree that his On the Spot ranks much higher than his card stunts, not that they're bad of course, just that his restaurant magic's so much better.
